Kai-to
The kai-to, sometimes kaito or kaido () is a type of small, motorised ferry that operates in Hong Kong. They are usually used to serve remote coastal settlements in the territory's outlying islands. There are currently 78 fixed kai-to routes, mostly used to ferry passengers between the outlying islands of Lantau Island, Peng Chau, Cheung Chau, and Lamma Island, among others, to the west of Hong Kong, and to enclave villages in the Tolo Harbour, Double Haven, Port Shelter, etc. in eastern New Territories. Certain routes within Victoria Harbour are still served by Kai-tos, including the Sai Wan Ho to Kwun Tong route. ''Wing Yip 3'' was the company's kai-to for the above route. It is a wooden kai-to and has a capacity of 122 passengers. ''AM50017S'' is the old ferry used for the route. It was originally a fishing boat with no seats. Passengers had to sit on the floor. It is not currently in use.

Peng Chau Kaito Limited, more commonly known as Peng Chau Kaito (), is a small kai-to ferry operator in Hong Kong. The company runs services between Peng Chau and Discovery Bay ( Nim Shue Wan) with occasional stops at the Trappist Monastery on Lantau Island, as well as the route between Discovery Bay and Mui Wo. The main route between Peng Chau and Discovery Bay received an estimated 1,420 passengers per day in 2013. The company also offers vessel hire. The routes which serve Peng Chau make use of the Peng Chau Public Pier. Service In 2012, the company was granted permission from the government to reduce the frequency of its route between Discovery Bay and Mui Wo to reduce costs which had risen due to an increase in fuel prices.
