Mount Isa ( ) is a city in the Gulf Country region of Queensland, Australia. It came into existence because of the vast mineral deposits found in the area. Mount Isa Mines (MIM) is one of the most productive single mines in world history, based on combined production of lead, silver, copper and zinc. With an urban population of 18,727 in 2021 census, Mount Isa is the administrative, commercial and industrial centre for the state's vast north-western region. Although situated in an arid area, the artificial Lake Moondarra north of the city on the Leichhardt River provides both drinking water and an area for watersports, birdwatching and recreation. Isa Sanna Mattiasdotter Tengblad (born 25 April 1998), known professionally as simply Isa (stylized as ISA) is a Sweden, Swedish singer, songwriter, and producer. She participated in Småstjärnorna, which was broadcast on TV4 (Sweden), TV4, where she imitated singer Jill Johnson. She also competed on Talang Sverige in 2009 as a member of the duo Electrified. Mount Isa Airport is an airport serving the western Queensland city of Mount Isa, Australia. It is served by a variety of scheduled regional airlines, with flights to Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns as well as several other regional centres. The Royal Flying Doctor Service has one of its nine Queensland bases at Mount Isa Airport.
