Internment Camps In Sweden During World War II
A number of internment camps were operated by Sweden Sweden in World War II, during World War II. These camps were used for internment of, among others, suspected criminals, German refugees, anarchists and Swedish communists. Military personnel from both sides in the war, if they entered Sweden without prior agreement, were also often subject to internment. The camps were claimed to have been a decision necessary in the ambition to keep Sweden out of the war. It was made by the then-ruling Third cabinet of Per Albin Hansson, grand coalition government under social democrat prime minister Per Albin Hansson, which included all parties in the Parliament of Sweden, with the notable exception of the Left Party (Sweden), Communist Party of Sweden. Storuman Municipality
Storuman Municipality (; sma, Luspie tjïelte; sju, Lusspie kommuvnna) is a municipality in Västerbotten County in northern Sweden. Its seat is located in Storuman. The parish Stensele was created as late as 1822. It was, together with the parish Tärna, made into a municipality in 1863. In 1903 Tärna was detached to form a municipality of its own. The local government reform of 1971 saw the reunification of Stensele and Tärnaby municipalities, thus forming Storuman Municipality with the name taken from its largest town. Tärnaby, a small village in the municipality, has fostered the internationally famous alpine skiers Ingemar Stenmark, Stig Strand and Anja Pärson. Stensele () is a locality situated in Storuman Municipality, Västerbotten County, Sweden with 546 inhabitants in 2010. It lies not far from the municipal seat of Storuman itself. Bollnäs Municipality (''Bollnäs kommun'') is a municipality in Gävleborg County, east central Sweden. Its seat is located in Bollnäs. The municipality evolved during a series of local government reforms in the 1950s and 1970s. It consists of six original entities and has its present shape since 1977. Geography Through the municipality, from north to southeast, runs the river Ljusnan. Among the localities situated at the river are Bollnäs and Arbrå. Storsien is a small village in Kalix Municipality in northern Sweden. It is best known for the internment camp Internment is the imprisonment of people, commonly in large groups, without charges or intent to file charges. Boden Municipality
Boden Municipality (Swedish: ''Bodens kommun'') is a municipality in Norrbotten County in northern Sweden. Its seat is located in Boden. In 1919 the evolving garrison town of Boden was detached from Överluleå and instituted as a city municipality of its own.
