Albert Iles
Albert Kitchener Iles (9 October 1914 – 30 November 1979) was a professional association footballer who played in The Football League for Bristol Rovers prior to the outbreak of World War II. Football career Iles began his footballing career playing in the Southern League for Tunbridge Wells Rangers. His prolific scoring record at that level earned him a professional contract with Bristol Rovers, signed on 24 September 1937. He immediately adjusted to the standard of football in Division 3 (South) of The Football League, and ended the 1937–38 season as ''The Pirates top goalscorer with 14 goals from 31 games. The following season, he scored a further five goals in fifteen League appearances, as well as featuring regularly for the reserve team. He played once in the aborted 1939–40 Football League season, and scored 16 goals in 29 wartime guest appearances for Rovers. Bradley Iles (born 23 August 1983) is a professional golfer from New Zealand who currently plays on the Nationwide Tour. Career Iles was born in Murupara, New Zealand. He turned professional in 2005. Iles has never won on the Nationwide Tour, but has come close, losing in a two-hole playoff at the Knoxville Open to Kevin Johnson. Edna Amy Iles (18 May 190529 January 2003) was an English classical pianist. Edna Iles was born in Kings Heath, Birmingham in 1905. She began her studies in Birmingham with Appleby Matthews, making her debut as soloist with the City of Birmingham Orchestra at age 15 in the Liszt E-flat Concerto. She made her Wigmore Hall recital debut soon afterwards and established a prominent presence throughout Britain and continental Europe during the 1920s and 1930s, giving recitals in many of the leading artistic centres including Berlin, Vienna, Oslo, Stockholm, and Budapest. Iles broadcast frequently for the BBC, and appeared as concerto soloist with distinguished conductors including Sir Thomas Beecham, Sir Adrian Boult, and Willem Mengelberg. Elijah Iles
Elijah Iles (March 28, 1796 – September 4, 1883) was an American businessman, pioneer, and politician who was one of the first settlers of Springfield, Illinois. He was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1826 and fought in the Winnebago War, Winnebago and Black Hawk Wars. During the latter engagement, Iles commanded future President Abraham Lincoln. Biography Elijah Iles was born in Fayette County, Kentucky on March 28, 1796. His father was sheriff of Bath County, Kentucky, Bath County. With money lent to him from his father, Elijah established a cattle ranch in the eastern part of the state and became wealthy. Greg Iles (born 1960) is a novelist who lives in Mississippi. He has published seventeen novels and one novella, spanning a variety of genres. Early life Iles was born in 1960 in Stuttgart, West Germany, where his physician father ran the US Embassy Medical Clinic. He was raised in Natchez, Mississippi, the setting of many of his novels. Nikki Anne Iles (née Burnham; born 16 May 1963) is a British jazz composer, pianist and educator. Early life Iles was born in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, on 16 May 1963. She started her musical education at primary school, where she learnt to play the harmonica and the clarinet, and at eleven years old she won a junior exhibition at the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied clarinet and piano from 1974 to 1981. She became a member of the Bedfordshire Youth Jazz Orchestra. She went on to the Leeds College of Music (1981–1984). Career Iles has a particular interest in the interface between rational processing, emotional motivation and endocrinology.
