I-Team
i-Team (the Internet Team / The Internet Cyclists' Club) is a non-commercial cycling club, affiliated to British Cycling, Cycling Time TrialsSurrey League i-Team iGo-Rideaccredited and its members organise the weeklPortsmouth School of Cycle Racing helping young riders develop and progress in the sport of cycling. i-Team's mission is to offer an accessible and friendly gateway into the world of club cycling and pool knowledge, information and resources, to help members progress their cycling as far as they want to go. i-Team was founded by Guy Watson with 10 members from the Portsmouth Area in 2003 and membership now includes around 150 cyclists throughout the U. K. and Worldwide. Cycling Club
A cycling club is a society for cyclists. Clubs tend to be mostly local, and can be general or specialised. In the United Kingdom, for example, the Cyclists' Touring Club, (CTC) is a national cycling association; the Tricycle Association, Tandem Club and the Veterans Time Trial Association, for those over 40, are specialist clubs. Members of specialist or national groups often also belong to local clubs. Other groups support leisure cyclists or campaign for improved facilities for cyclists. Dani King
Danielle 'Dani' Rowe MBE (née King; born 21 November 1990) is a British former road and track cyclist. She retired from cycling in December 2018. A team pursuit gold medallist from the London Olympics in 2012, Rowe also won three consecutive world titles in the women's team pursuit, winning in 2011, (with Laura Trott and Wendy Houvenaghel), 2012 (with Trott and Joanna Rowsell), and 2013 (with Trott and Elinor Barker). Career She won the team pursuit at the Track Cycling World Cup in London in preparation for the Olympics in February 2012. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Rowe won a gold medal for the team pursuit alongside Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell. The team also set a new world record time of 3:14.051 in this event. In November 2014, Rowe was involved a serious crash after hitting a pothole while training on roads near Merthyr Tydfil. British Cycling
British Cycling (formerly the British Cycling Federation) is the main national governing body for cycle sport in Great Britain. It administers most competitive cycling in Great Britain, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Cycling Time Trials
Cycling Time Trials is the bicycle racing organisation which supervises individual and team time trials in England and Wales. It was formed out of predecessor body the Road Time Trials Council (RTTC) in 2002. Time trialling A time trial tests a rider not against other cyclists but the watch. Other than in team events, which are less numerous, competitors race individually, starting at intervals of a minute. Riders may not ride together when one catches another. The order of start is often organised so that the fastest riders are spaced apart. In that way they are less likely to catch each other, while when they catch lesser riders they will pass that much faster that neither will be helped or hindered. UK races can be organised over any distance but in practice they are most often run at standard distances of 10, 25, 50 and 100 miles, with occasional races at 15 and 30 miles. Rob Hayles
Robert John Hayles (born 21 January 1973) is a former track and road racing cyclist, who rode for Great Britain and England on the track and several professional teams on the road. Hayles competed in the team pursuit and Madison events, until his retirement in 2011. He now occasionally provides studio-based analysis of cycle races for British Eurosport. Career He first represented Great Britain in the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996, where he rode the team pursuit. Hayles represented England in the points race and team pursuit at the 1998 Commonwealth Games. At the 2000 Summer Olympics, he won silver in the individual pursuit. He was a member of the pursuit team that came third, and rode the Madison with Bradley Wiggins, finishing fourth. From 2001 to 2003 Hayles rode for the team in France.
