Babe Hiskey
Bryant "Babe" Hiskey (born November 21, 1938) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. Hiskey was born in Burley, Idaho. He won the Idaho Amateur three times. He attended the University of Houston and was a member of the golf team. He turned professional in 1961. In 1970, Hiskey won the Sahara Invitational by one stroke over Miller Barber, Terry Dill and Bob Goalby. After turning 50, Hiskey played on the Senior PGA Tour (now Champions Tour). His best finish was second place at the 1995 First of America Classic. Hiskey's brother, Jim and his nephew, Paul are also professional golfers. After retiring as a touring professional, he worked as a golf course architect. His designs include Highland Golf Course in Pocatello, Idaho. He lives in Galveston, Texas. Clarence Hiskey
Clarence Francis Hiskey (1912–1998), born Clarence Szczechowski, was a Soviet espionage agent in the United States. He became active in the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) when he attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin. He became a professor of chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Columbia University and Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. For a time, Hiskey worked at the Tennessee Valley Authority and the University of Chicago Metallurgical Laboratory, part of the Manhattan Project. He was the father of Nicholas Sand. Metallurgical Laboratory Hiskey joined the Chicago Metallurgical Laboratory in September 1943. In May 1944, a message sent by New York KGB to Moscow Venona project was intercepted and decrypted. The message contained information reporting that Bernard Schuster, member of the CPUSA secret apparatus, working for Soviet intelligence, had traveled to Chicago on the KGB's instructions. Richard Grant Hiskey
Richard G. Hiskey (May 21, 1929 – July 28, 2016) was an American chemist and Alumni Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hiskey joined the department of chemistry of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1958. He served in various capacities within the university, including director of graduate studies (1965-1970) and chairman of the department (1970-1975), (elected) chairman of the division of natural sciences from 1975 to 1981, and faculty representative to the Atlantic Coast Conference and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (1985-1995). Academic career He received the Standard Oil Foundation for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award in 1970; the Tanner Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 1986; and he was elected by students to membership in the Society of the Golden Fleece in 1989.
