Edward Neil Anthony Hannon (born 7 November 1970) is a Northern Irish singer and songwriter. He is the creator and front man of the chamber pop group The Divine Comedy, and is the band's sole constant member. Hannon wrote the theme tunes for the television sitcoms ''Father Ted'' and '' The IT Crowd''. Dinny Hannon
Denis J. Hannon, also known as Dinny Hannon or Dinney Hannon (31 January 1888 – 23 August 1971), was an Irish footballer who played as an inside-right for both Bohemians and Athlone Town. Born in Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland, Hannon was also a dual international and played for both Ireland teams - the IFA XI and the FAI XI. He was the first player ever to do this. In 1913 he was a member of the first ever IFA XI to beat England and in 1924 he represented the Irish Free State at the Paris Olympics. J. Kemp Hannon (born January 10, 1946) is an American politician. A Republican, Hannon was a member of the New York State Senate from the 6th district in Nassau County between 1989 and 2018. Biography Hannon graduated from Chaminade High School (1963), Boston College (1967) and Fordham University School of Law (1970). Brian Desmond Anthony Hannon (5 October 1936 – 10 January 2022) was a Church of Ireland clergyman, who was Bishop of Clogher from 1986 to 2001. He was also the father of the singer and songwriter Neil Hannon, lead member of The Divine Comedy, who wrote the theme music for the situation comedy ''Father Ted''. Hannon was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, and ordained in 1962. His first post was a curacy in Clooney, County Londonderry; after which he was the incumbent at Desertmartin, County Londonderry. Mary Josephine Hannan LRCPI & SI &LM (c1865–c1935) was the first Irishwoman to graduate LRCPI & SI and LM. Career Almost nothing is known about Hannan's early life or who her parents were. Hannan was one of the first women to study in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She graduated in 1890 while living in Riverstown, Killucan, Co. Westmeath. By 1892 she had moved to India and was working in the Victoria Hospital, Kotah State and then the Dufferin Hospital, Ulwar State. In 1894 she became Chief medical officer in the Lady Dufferin Hospital in Shikarpar, Upper Sind. At this time she was appointed the honorary medical adviser to the Salvation Army. Hannan returned to the United Kingdom, first living in Cardiff, Wales, from about 1896 to 1899. She was once more in Dublin in 1900 and lived and worked in Lower Mount St. for about 5 years. Canon Edward Joseph Hannan (Irish: ''Éamonn Seosamh Ó hAnnáin'') (1836–1891) was an Irish-born priest, mainly remembered as the founder of Hibernian Football Club in Edinburgh. Life He was born in Ballingarry, County Limerick on 21 June 1836. Hannon went to the minor seminary of St Munchin's College, Limerick, in 1853, before moving to All Hallows College, Dublin, in 1855, where he complete his studies and was ordained as a priest in 1860.
