Albatrellus Confluens
''Albatrellus confluens'' is a species of fungus in the family Albatrellaceae. It is commonly referred to as fused polypore. It is similar to ovinus, but bitter and with age tend to salmon color. Description The top of the cap is a white to whitish-grey/brown, depending on age. The pores attach to the underside of the cap and continue partway down the stipe. When heated, the mushroom can become a green-yellow color. This mushroom also produces Grifolin, an anticancer molecule. The species is inedible. DAPK1
Death-associated protein kinase 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ''DAPK1'' gene. Function Death-associated protein kinase 1 is a positive mediator of gamma-interferon induced programmed cell death. DAPK1 encodes a structurally unique 160-kD calmodulin dependent serine-threonine kinase that carries 8 ankyrin repeats and 2 putative P-loop consensus sites. It is a tumor suppressor candidate. In melanocytic cells DAPK1 gene expression may be regulated by MITF Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor also known as class E basic helix-loop-helix protein 32 or bHLHe32 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''MITF'' gene. MITF is a basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper transcription factor .... As a drug target Depletion of DAPK1 results in inhibition of tumor cell count and volume growth in cellular and animal models of triple receptor-negative breast cancer, from individuals with p53-mutant cancers. This has not been demonstrated in actual patie ...

In Vitro
''In vitro'' (meaning in glass, or ''in the glass'') studies are performed with microorganisms, cells, or biological molecules outside their normal biological context. Colloquially called "test-tube experiments", these studies in biology and its subdisciplines are traditionally done in labware such as test tubes, flasks, Petri dishes, and microtiter plates. Studies conducted using components of an organism that have been isolated from their usual biological surroundings permit a more detailed or more convenient analysis than can be done with whole organisms; however, results obtained from ''in vitro'' experiments may not fully or accurately predict the effects on a whole organism. In contrast to ''in vitro'' experiments, ''in vivo'' studies are those conducted in living organisms, including humans, and whole plants. Definition ''In vitro'' ( la, in glass; often not italicized in English usage) studies are conducted using components of an organism that have been isolated fro ...
