The phrase "guns, goons, and gold," sometimes referred to as the "Three Gs of Philippine Politics" was a catchphrase coined by media to describe the violence and vote-buying that characterized the political campaign period in the Philippines, beginning with the presidential reelection campaign of 1969, declining only with the advent of electronic voting machines during the elections of 2010. Edgar Sinco Romero, (July 7, 1924 – May 28, 2013), commonly known as Eddie Romero, was a Filipino film director, film producer and screenwriter. Early life Romero was born on July 7, 1924. His father was José E. Romero, the first Philippine Ambassador to the Court of St. James's. His mother was Pilar Guzman Sinco, a schoolteacher and the sister of University of the Philippines President Vicente G. Jose Maria Marfori Asuncion (March 28, 1939 – July 19, 2003), better known by his stage-name Vic Vargas, was a Filipino film actor and judoka. Roland Dantes
Rolando Pintoy Dantes (June 15, 1940 – March 16, 2009) was an actor, champion bodybuilder and Filipino martial artist who trained with Remy Presas for over 30 years. He was born on June 15, 1940 in the Philippines. He has also trained with other martial arts masters, such as Cacoy Canete and Edgar Sulite. He worked several years as a police officer before becoming an actor. He is one of the best-known Philippine actors. He has had leading roles in different films including "The Pacific Connection" and "Arnis: The Sticks Of Death."
