Greasy is a census-designated place (CDP) in Adair County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 372 at the 2010 census. Geography Greasy is located at (35.678115, -94.721152). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.70%, is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 387 people, 133 households, and 109 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 19.0 people per square mile (7.3/km2). There were 146 housing units at an average density of 7.2/sq mi (2.8/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 57.11% Native American, 36.43% White, 0.78% from other races, and 5.68% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.10% of the population. Alfred Earle "Greasy" Neale (November 5, 1891 – November 2, 1973) was an American football and baseball player and coach. Early life and playing career Neale was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Although writers eventually assumed that Neale got his nickname, "Greasy", from his elusiveness on the football field, it actually arose during his youth, from a name-calling joust with a friend. Baseball career He played Major League Baseball as an outfielder with the Cincinnati Reds between 1916 and 1924 and briefly with the Philadelphia Phillies for part of the 1921 season. Neale was the starting right fielder for the championship-winning 1919 Reds. He batted .357 in the 1919 World Series and led the Reds with ten hits in their eight-game series win over the scandalous White Sox. Neale spent all but 22 games of his baseball career with the Reds. ''Cressida cressida'', the clearwing swallowtail or big greasy, is a Troidine swallowtail butterfly found in northern Australia, New Guinea, Maluku, and Timor. It is in the monotypic genus ''Cressida''. Remarkably, this species is not particularly closely related to other Asian swallowtails, but instead seems to be the closest living relative of the peculiar South American swallowtails of genus '' Euryades''. Taxonomy Johann Fabricius acquired the first specimens of this species from Joseph Banks, who collected them at the site of present-day Cooktown in 1770. Fabricius described the male and female as ''Papilio cressida'' and ''P. harmonia'' respectively, under the premise that the two were different species.
