Fifth Doctor
The Fifth Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. He is portrayed by Peter Davison. Within the series' narrative, the Doctor is a centuries-old alien Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who travels in time and space in the TARDIS, frequently with companions. At the end of life, the Doctor regenerates; as a result, the physical appearance and personality of the Doctor changes. Davison portrays the Fifth Doctor as having a vulnerable side and a tendency towards indecisiveness, dressed as a boyish Edwardian cricketer. Castrovalva (Doctor Who)
''Castrovalva'' is the first serial of the 19th season of the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', which was first broadcast in four twice-weekly parts on BBC1 from 4 to 12 January 1982. It was the first full serial to feature Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor. The title is a reference to the lithograph '' Castrovalva'' by M. C. Escher, which depicts the town Castrovalva in the Abruzzo region, Italy. In the serial, the alien time traveller the Doctor is led into a trap when his arch-enemy the Master (Anthony Ainley) uses the mathematical abilities of the Doctor's travelling companion Adric (Matthew Waterhouse) to create Castrovalva, a town whose dimensions fold in on itself. Janet Fielding (born Janet Claire Mahoney; 9 September 1953) is an Australian actress who starred in the BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' as companion Tegan Jovanka. Early life and career Fielding was born in Brisbane. After spending some of her childhood schooldays in America, Fielding studied at the University of Queensland, from which she graduated with a degree in English. Sarah Sutton
Sarah Sutton (born 12 December 1961) is a British actress. She played the role of Nyssa in the BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. Early life Sutton was born in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. Sutton studied ballet as a child and was only 11 when she became the youngest British actress to have played Alice on screen, in a 1973 television film of ''Alice Through the Looking Glass''. She began acting at the age of nine in A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh. She made her first appearance as Baby Roo just five days after her ninth birthday at the Phoenix Theatre in the West End of London, 1970-1972. Matthew Waterhouse
Matthew Waterhouse (born 19 December 1961) is an English actor and writer. From 1980 to 1982 he played the role of Adric in the BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. Early life Waterhouse was born in Hertford, but brought up in Haywards Heath, Sussex. The son of a solicitor, he was educated at St. Wilfrid's Primary School, West Sussex and Shoreham Grammar School. Waterhouse was a great fan of ''Doctor Who'' in his younger days, claiming that he was "obsessed" with the show. ''Doctor Who'' Adric was a companion of Tom Baker and Peter Davison's Doctors from 1980 to 1982. The Edwardian era or Edwardian period of British history spanned the reign of King Edward VII, 1901 to 1910 and is sometimes extended to the start of the First World War. Regeneration (Doctor Who)
In the long-running British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'', regeneration is a biological ability exhibited by the Time Lords, a race of fictional humanoids originating on the planet Gallifrey. This process allows a Time Lord to undergo a transformation into a new physical form and a somewhat different personality after instances which would normally result in death.
