Fang Xiang
Fang Xiang (; born October 1957) is a lieutenant general in the People's Liberation Army of China. He was an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. Biography Fang was born in Chun'an County, Zhejiang, in October 1957. He was deputy secretary-general of the Office of the People's Liberation Army General Political Department in 2010 and then head of its Organization Division in 2013. In July 2015, he was promoted to become director of Political Department of the People's Armed Police (PAP), a position he held until December 2015. On 31 December 2015, he was made director of the newly founded Political Department of the People's Liberation Army Rocket Force (PLARF), and served until June 2017, when he was appointed political commissar of the PLA Academy of Military Science. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is the principal military force of the People's Republic of China and the armed wing of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Qin Shengxiang
Qin Shengxiang (; born February 1957) is an admiral of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) who was Political Commissar of the PLA Navy from September 2017 to January 2022. He formerly served as Director of the General Office of the Central Military Commission. Career Qin Shengxiang was born in February 1957 in Jianli, Hubei Province. He worked for many years in the Central Military Commission, and served as Vice Director and then Director of the Organization Department of the PLA General Political Department. He attained the rank of major general in about 2007. In December 2012, Qin was appointed Director of the General Office of the Central Military Commission, succeeding Wang Guanzhong. Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. The disappearance of the "sergeant" in the title explains the apparent confusion of a lieutenant general outranking a major general, whereas a major outranks a lieutenant. In the Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth and in the United States, when appointed to a field command, a major general is typically in command of a Division (military), division consisting of around 6,000 to 25,000 troops (several regiments or brigades). The People's Liberation Army General Political Department (GPD; ) was the former chief political organ under the Central Military Commission of Chinese Communist Party. It led all political activities in the People's Liberation Army. Its former director-generals include Liu Shaoqi, Luo Ronghuan, Tan Zheng, Xiao Hua, Li Desheng, Zhang Chunqiao, Wei Guoqing, Yu Qiuli, Yang Baibing, Yu Yongbo, Xu Caihou, and Li Jinai.
