Christine Erbe is a German-Australian physicist specializing in underwater acoustics. She is a professor in the School of Earth and Planetary Sciences and director of the Curtin University Centre for Marine Science and Technology, Centre for Marine Science and Technology (CMST)—both at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. Erbe is known for her research on acoustic masking in marine mammals, investigating how man-made underwater noise interferes with animal acoustic communication. Early life and education Erbe grew up in Herdecke, North Rhine Westphalia, Germany, where she attended the Friedrich Harkort Gymnasium. She studied physics at Technical University of Dortmund, Technische Universität Dortmund, graduating in 1993. Eugen Edmund Eduard Erbe
Eugen Edmund Eduard Erbe (5 November 1847 – 22 January 1908) was a Baltic German lawyer, judge, and politician who was the deputy mayor of Reval (now Tallinn) from December 1905 to May 1906. He graduated from the University of Tartu's Faculty of Law. He practiced law and was a judge in what is now Estonia. He was a judge in the Estonian higher court. He eventually became a city councilor from 1883 to 1906. He eventually became the deputy mayor of the city from December 1905 to May 1906 while the position was vacated. He was succeeded by Voldemar Lender. Erbe was also president of the St. Olaf's Church convention. Joan Erbe Udel (1926 – August 21, 2014) was a Baltimore painter and sculptor. She was best known for using bright colors and was called "The Grand Duchess of Baltimore Painters" by Ned Oldham as quoted by Rebecca Hoffberger in ''Baltimore Magazine''. She received her training at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she was a student of Leonard Bahr and Louis Bouché. Early life Joan Erbe was born in Baltimore in 1926. She was the daughter of Harry Erbe, a wholesale coffee salesman and Bertha Metcalf Erbe, who was a secretary at the Enoch Pratt Free Library's children's department. Kathryn Elsbeth Erbe is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Alexandra Eames on ''Law & Order: Criminal Intent'', a spin-off of ''Law & Order'', and Shirley Bellinger in the HBO series '' Oz''. Early life Erbe was born in Newton, Massachusetts, the daughter of Elsbeth and Richard Erbe. Her father is a research geneticist. She graduated from New York University (NYU) in 1989. Piazza delle Erbe (Market's square) is a square in Verona, northern Italy. It was once the town's forum during the time of the Roman Empire. Description The northern side of the square is occupied by the ancient town hall, the Torre dei Lamberti, the ''Casa dei Giudici'' ("Judges' Hall") and the frescoed Mazzanti Houses. The western side, the shortest one, features the Baroque Palazzo Maffei, decorated by statues of Greek gods. It is faced by a white marble column, on which is St. Mark's Lion, symbol of the Republic of Venice. The north-western side occupies the site of the ancient Roman Capitol Hill, which looked towards the forum. Numerous of its buildings facing the square have maintained façade frescoes.
