Anton Elter
Anton Elter (5 March 1858, Rosbach an der Sieg – 5 November 1925, Bonn) was a German classical philologist. He studied philology at the universities of Münster and Bonn, receiving his PhD in 1880 with a dissertation on the Greek anthologist Stobaeus. Following graduation, he spent several years in Rome, where he worked as a private tutor to the son of Onorato Caetani of Sermoneta. In 1887 he became an associate professor of philosophy at the University of Czernowitz, then returning to Bonn as an associate professor of classical philology in 1890, where two years later, he gained a full professorship and was named director of philosophical seminars. Anielka Elter
Anielka Elter (1901-1958 in Kent, England) was a Czechoslovak motion picture actress who made films in Berlin, Germany and Hollywood. Career Elter was a film star in Berlin before arriving in America from Poland. She had her first success in America with ''The Merry Widow'' (1925). She had an uncredited role as a blindfolded musician. The movie was directed by Erich Von Stroheim and starred Mae Murray, John Gilbert, and Tully Marshall. Elter worked with film producer Sascha Kolowrat of Vienna, Austria, on several movie projects in association with the Berlin Film Manufacturing Company. She was chosen by Elinor Glyn to play the ''Bolshevik girl'' in '' The Only Thing'' (1925). Leo William "Ducky" Elter (October 21, 1929 – August 23, 2008) was an American football running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins. Early life Elter was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended Shaler Area High School, where he played football and baseball. College career Elter started his college football career at Duquesne University, but then transferred to Villanova University after the Duquesne team disbanded for a short time. Military After graduating from college, Elter joined the United States Marine Corps and was recruited to play for the football team at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. Margaret Elter
Margaret Elter (c. 1525 - c. 1 February 1553), or Marguerite d'Elter, was a noblewoman from Guelders, relative of Anna 't Serclaes (wife of John Hooper, bishop of Gloucester), and Protestant refugee in Cambridge and Strasbourg. Life Margaret Elter was educated in a convent in Mons, Hainaut, in the Low Countries. In 1547 she fled for religious reasons to Basel, where she joined the household of Jacques de Bourgogne, Lord of Falais. In March 1548 at Strasbourg she married the Spanish Protestant Francisco de Enzinas, and shortly afterwards moved with him to England. A daughter was born in Cambridge the following year. When her husband returned to Strasbourg in November 1549, she refused to accompany him, citing the baby's delicate health and the perils of winter travel. She finally joined him in June 1550, accompanied by her niece Anna Elter. A second daughter was born at Strasbourg in 1551.
