Electoral District Of Elder
Elder is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after nineteenth-century businessman and philanthropist Sir Thomas Elder. Elder is an 18.3 km² suburban electorate in Adelaide's inner south, taking in the suburbs of Clapham, Clovelly Park, Colonel Light Gardens, Cumberland Park, Daw Park, Hawthorn, Lower Mitcham, Melrose Park, Mitchell Park, Panorama, Pasadena, St Marys, Tonsley, and Westbourne Park. Nadia Clancy
Nadia Peace Clancy (born 1986) is an Australian politician and former political adviser. Early life, education and career Clancy was born at Bedford Park in 1986. Her mother, Rosemary Clancy, served as mayor of Brighton Council and stood as the Labor candidate for the seat of Mitchell at the 2006 state election but was defeated by Kris Hanna. Clancy attended Paringa Park Primary School and Brighton Secondary School before studying media and communications at the University of South Australia. She worked as adviser to Labor members of parliament, including then Minister for Foreign Affairs Kevin Rudd, ACT Chief Minister Katy Gallagher and SA federal MP Mark Butler. In 2009, she moved to Renmark to work as a producer for the ABC. Cumberland Park is an inner-southern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Mitcham. Location Located at 34.97°S 138.59°E, it is 58 m above mean sea level, and about 5 km south of the Adelaide city centre. The suburb's borders are Cross Road (north), Goodwood Road (east), Edward Street (south) and Winston Avenue (west). The Liberal Party of Australia (South Australian Division), commonly known as the South Australian Liberals, is the South Australian Division of the Liberal Party of Australia. Electoral District Of Mitchell (South Australia)
Mitchell is a former electoral district of the House of Assembly in the state of South Australia. It was first created in the redistribution of 1969, taking effect at the 1970 election. Mitchell was replaced by Black at the 2018 election, resulting from the 2016 electoral redistribution. Mitchell was named after philosopher Sir William Mitchell. Mitchell was located in inner-south western Adelaide, and covered and encompassed the suburbs of Dover Gardens, Old Reynella, Reynella, Seacombe Gardens, Seacombe Heights, Seaview Downs, Sheidow Park, Sturt and Trott Park and parts of Darlington, O'Halloran Hill, Oaklands Park and Warradale. Westbourne Park is an inner southern suburb of Adelaide, the State capital of South Australia. The suburb was named after Westbourne, a village in Sussex, England, and was laid out in 1881. Located in the City of Mitcham, the suburb's boundaries are Cross Road, Goodwood Road, Grange Road, Sussex Terrace and the Belair train line. History The suburb was originally known as Cottonville and Unley Park. The area was largely built up in the first three decades of the twentieth century, partly due to its proximity to the (no longer existent) Colonel Light Gardens Tram Line. Tonsley is a southern suburb of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. History The suburb of Tonsley was created on 27 January 2017 by dividing the suburb of Clovelly Park in half. The southern part of the suburb was separated from Clovelly Park and named Tonsley at that time. Named after England's Tonsley Hall, it includes the former vehicle assembly plant, which was often called ''Tonsley Park''. The Chrysler Australia car plant was opened in 1964. The factory was taken over by Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) in 1980 and closed in 2008.
