Electoral districts of Victoria are the electoral districts, commonly referred to as "seats" or "electorates", into which the Australian State of Victoria is divided for the purpose of electing members of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, one of the two houses of the Parliament of the State. The State is divided into 88 single-member districts. The Legislative Assembly has had 88 electorates since the 1985 election, increased from 81 previously. Electoral boundaries are redrawn from time to time, in a process called ''redivision''. The last redivision took place in 2021, when the Victorian Electoral Boundaries Commission reviewed Victoria's district boundaries. Janet Tindale Calder Wilson (28 July 1939 – 5 March 2010) was an Australian politician. Wilson was educated at Graeme High School in Falkirk, Scotland. After moving to Australia she became involved with the Australian Labor Party (Victorian Branch), Labor Party, serving as secretary to federal Division of Holt, Holt MP Max Oldmeadow from 1972 to 1975. From 1975 she was executive officer for Westernport Regional Council, but from 1978 she was a state party organiser and City of Dandenong, Dandenong City Councillor. In 1985 she was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the member for Electoral district of Dandenong North, Dandenong North. In 1992 she was promoted to the front bench as Shadow Minister for Local Government and the Aged, trading Local Government for Consumer Affairs in 1993 and Racing in 1994. The Australian Labor Party (Victorian Branch), commonly known as Victorian Labor, is the semi-autonomous Victorian branch of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). The Victorian branch comprises two major wings: the parliamentary wing and the organisational wing. The parliamentary wing comprising all elected party members in the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council, which when they meet collectively constitute the party caucus. The parliamentary leader is elected from and by the caucus, and party factions have a strong influence in the election of the leader. John Lenders
John Lenders (born 1 October 1958) is an Australian politician. He represented the Southern Metropolitan Region in the Victorian Legislative Council. He was most notably the Minister for Education in the Bracks Government and Treasurer of Victoria in the Brumby Government. He was appointed Treasurer in August 2007 following the appointment of Premier John Brumby and was succeeded on 3 December 2010 after the election of the Baillieu Government.
