Mark Gerald Esser (born April 1, 1956) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He appeared in two games in Major League Baseball, one week apart, in for the Chicago White Sox. He was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 20th round of the 1975 MLB Draft out of Roy C. Ketcham High School in Wappinger, New York and again by the Chicago White Sox in the 8th round of the 1977 MLB Draft out of Miami Dade College. He was assigned to the Gulf Coast League to begin his professional career. Esser made his Major League debut on April 22, 1979 against the Cleveland Indians at Cleveland Stadium. He pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in relief of Francisco Barrios. Seven days later, he pitched in the second and final Major League game of his career. Benjamin Joel Esser, known mononymously as Esser, is an English singer, songwriter and producer. He is from Chelmsford, Essex and was formerly a drummer for the band Ladyfuzz. His debut album, ''Braveface'', was released in the UK in May 2009 via Transgressive Records; Esser promoted the record as a support act for the Kaiser Chiefs' UK arena tour and also on his own tour, joined by a live band that included his brother. He released an EP, ''Enmity'', in 2012, taking influence from Krautrock groups such as Cluster (band), Cluster and Harmonia (band), Harmonia. Esser attended Great Baddow High School. Robin Charles Esser (6 May 1933 – 6 November 2017) was a British newspaper executive and former editor. After doing National Service and studying at Wadham College, Oxford University, where he edited the '' Cherwell'' newspaper, Esser began his career as a reporter with the ''Daily Express'' and ''Daily Sketch'' in 1957. He edited the Express' "Hickey" column, and gave both Nigel Dempster and Paul Dacre their first jobs on a national newspaper. By 1969, he was the newspaper's New York editor, and was the first British journalist to interview the Apollo 11 astronauts. Luke Esser (born August 26, 1961) is an American attorney, journalist, and politician who served as the chairman of the Washington State Republican Party from 2007 to 2011. He was elected on January 27, 2007, when he defeated incumbent chairwoman Diane Tebelius, was re-elected in 2009, but lost to Kirby Wilbur in 2011. Esser is a former Republican senator in the Washington State Senate, representing the 48th Legislative District. He served as the Majority floor leader for the Washington State Senate. He was defeated for re-election in 2006 by Democratic challenger and former Republican lawmaker Rodney Tom. In the 2004 Republican primary for the eighth Congressional district of Washington he finished third, behind Diane Tebelius and King County Sheriff Dave Reichert.
