Erbach Im Odenwald
Erbach () is a town and the district seat of the Odenwaldkreis (district) in Hesse, Germany. It has a population of around 13,000. Geography Location The town lies in the ''Mittelgebirge'' Odenwald at elevations between 200 and 560 m in the valley of the Mümling. One geological peculiarity is the creek Erdbach's complete disappearance within Dorf-Erbach's community area. The Erdbach reappears near Stockheim. There are several places where the Erdbach disappears into the ground. Neighbouring communities Erbach borders in the north on the town of Michelstadt, in the east on the market town of Kirchzell (in Miltenberg district in Bavaria), in the south on the community of Hesseneck and the town of Beerfelden and in the west on the community of Mossautal (all three in the ''Odenwaldkreis''). Erbach an der Donau is a town on the Danube River in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Located in the Alb-Donau District, Erbach lies between Ulm and Ehingen an der Donau on the southern edge of the Swabian Jura. History The oldest known mention of Erbach was in the Konstanz Tithe Book in 1275 as a parish called ''Irlebach'', although findings dating from the Neolithic Age indicate the area around Erbach was settled earlier. Erbach received town privileges on 1 August 2002. In 1972 the community Ringingen was incorporated into Erbach. In the course of community reforms in 1974 the communities Bach, Dellmensingen, Donaurieden and Ersingen were also incorporated into Erbach. Politics The mayor is elected for a term of eight years. The term of office of Paul Roth ended on November 26, 2010. His successor is Achim Gaus, who was elected on October 24, 2010 in the second round and has taken up his duties on 1 January 2011. Erbach () is a ''Stadtteil'' in Eltville am Rhein, Hesse, Germany. It lies within the Rheingau (wine region), Rheingau German wine#Regions, wine region. Geography It is located West of Eltville, Erbach lies where Kissel stream (formerly called Eberbach) flows into the Rhine. History The settlement of Erbach was first recorded under the name “Ever Bach” in 1069 in the undated charters of Archbishop Siegfried (1060–1072). Archbishop Friedrich of Mainz (937-54) donated the St. Peter pin in Mainz to the church to Eltville with the tithe to Erbach. The name of the village was originally spelled like Bach Eberbach. It became known as Erbach in 1313. The name probably originated from the name of a monastery in the same district. During the 12th century the community became a separate district. Homburg (; french: Hombourg, pfl, Humborch) is a town in Saarland, Germany and the administrative seat of the Saarpfalz district. With a population of 43,029 inhabitants (2022), it is the third largest town in the state. The city offers over 30,000 workplaces.
