Electoral District Of Bonney
Bonney is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created in the 2017 redistribution and was first contested in the 2017 Queensland state election. It was named after pioneer aviator Maude Bonney. Located on the Gold Coast, Bonney consists of the suburbs of Biggera Waters, Arundel, Parkwood, Labrador and the northern area of Southport. Labrador is a coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the , Labrador had a population of 18,261 people. Geography The suburb overlooks the Gold Coast Broadwater to the east and Southport on the southern border. There are many Aboriginal cultural sites across the Gold Coast. Labrador was part of traditional country for several families, due to the abundance of shell fish, mudcrabs, oysters and waterfowl in the area. The two local peoples most spoken of by the early settlers were the Yugambeh and Kombumerri Aboriginals. Biggera Waters is a coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the , Biggera Waters had a population of 8,534 people. Geography Biggera Waters is located on the western side of the Broadwater. Beyond the Broadwater are South Stradbroke Island, Wave Break Island () and The Spit at Main Beach. The 2017 Queensland state election was held on 25 November 2017 to elect all 93 members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, the unicameral Parliament of Queensland. The first-term incumbent Labor government, led by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, won a second term in government.
