Saint Máedóc of Ferns (;  6th & 7th century), also known as Saint Aidan ( ga, Áedan; cy, Aeddan; la, Aidanus and '), or Saint Mogue ( ga, Mo Aodh Óg), was an Irish saint who was the first Bishop of Ferns in County Wexford and the founder of thirty churches. His birth name was Áed, the name of the Irish god of the underworld, meaning "fire". The name Aidan is a diminutive form of Aed or Aodh, and was also a form of the Latin name Dominus. Edan Portnoy (born 1978), better known as Edan, is an American hip hop artist from Rockville, Maryland. Early life Born to middle-class parents who immigrated from Israel, Portnoy grew up in Rockville, Maryland. He is Jewish. In high school, he bought his first turntables and started mixing beats. Inspired by his classmate's rhymes, he started writing his own songs. After graduation, he entered Berklee College of Music, where he spent two and a half years. He dropped out of the college to focus on music full time. Career Edan released his first solo studio album, '' Primitive Plus'', on Lewis Recordings in 2002. It was described by ''The A.V. Edan Milton Hughes (June 4, 1935April 21, 2015) was an American art dealer and collector of California art. He wrote the definitive work on California artists. Life Edan Milton Hughes was born June 4, 1935, in Maysville, Kentucky. He attended the University of Kentucky, where his studies were interrupted by the Korean war. The Navy first brought him to San Francisco as a young man, where he remained till his death. During the period of the '60s and '70s in San Francisco he lived in the Haight-Ashbury section of the city. Hughes enjoyed playing bridge, and going to the Opera. Eden Hills is a south eastern suburb located in the foothills of Adelaide, South Australia. It is part of the local government area of the City of Mitcham. History Whilst the derivation of the name is not conclusive, the Department of Lands Grant Book reveals the first land owner in the area was William Detmar Cook who purchased a property on 29 October 1839. Cook was Master of the barque ''Eden''. There was little settlement of the area until the early 1880s, when the railway from Adelaide to Nairne opened, being the first stage in the plan to link Adelaide to Melbourne. John Idan is an American guitarist and vocalist from Detroit, best known for his work with the Yardbirds, the McCarty Band, and his own bands, the John Idan Group and the Top Topham – John Idan Band.
