Eastmountainsouth
Eastmountainsouth was an American pop rock duo formed in 1999 composed of vocalists Kat Maslich-Bode and Peter Bradley Adams. The duo released their self-titled debut album in 2003 after signing a deal with Dreamworks Records. This is the duo's one and only album as they parted ways after its release. Both have since released work on solo projects since their split in 2004. Several of the duo's songs have been used in films and television episodes. Their cover of Stephen Foster's song " Hard Times (Come Again No More)" was featured on the '' Elizabethtown'' motion picture soundtrack. The track "So Are You To Me" was featured on the soundtrack of the movie '' Lucky 7'' and appeared in the episode "Truth Takes Time" of the television series '' Alias''. Hard Times Come Again No More
"Hard Times Come Again No More" (sometimes, "Hard Times") is an American parlor song written by Stephen Foster. It was published in New York by Firth, Pond & Co. in 1854 as Foster's Melodies No. 28. Well-known and popular in its day, both in America and Europe, the song asks the fortunate to consider the plight of the less fortunate and includes one of Foster's favorite images: "a pale drooping maiden". The first audio recording was a wax cylinder by the Edison Manufacturing Company (Edison Gold Moulded 9120) in 1905. It has been recorded and performed numerous times since. The song is Roud Folk Song Index #2659. Peter Bradley Adams
Peter Bradley Adams is a folk-pop Americana singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama. History Before embarking on his solo career in 2005, Adams was a founding member of the folk pop duo eastmountainsouth. Within a year of forming eastmountainsouth in 2001 with Kat Maslich Bode, they were signed by Robbie Robertson to DreamWorks Records. Adams co-produced their 2003 debut album with Mitchell Froom, and toured extensively for the next year and a half with acts including Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman, Joan Baez and Nelly Furtado. Their single "You Dance" was a #1 AAA radio hit (top 5 for 2 months) in 2003 and eastmountainsouth performed on ''Late Night with Conan O'Brien'' on September 24, 2003.
