Division Of Werriwa
The Division of Werriwa is an Australian electoral division in the state of New South Wales. The name Werriwa derives from a local Aboriginal name for Lake George, which was located in the division when it was established in 1900. The division was one of the original 65 divisions first contested at the first federal election. Werriwa now covers an area in south-west Sydney, including the suburbs of Ashcroft, Austral, Bonnyrigg Heights, Busby, Carnes Hill, Cartwright, Casula, Cecil Hills, Edmondson Park, Glenfield, Green Valley, Heckenberg, Hinchinbrook, Horningsea Park, Hoxton Park, Long Point, Lurnea, Macquarie Fields, Macquarie Links, Middleton Grange, Miller, Minto, Prestons, Sadleir, and West Hoxton; as well as parts of Badgerys Creek, Bonnyrigg, Bringelly, Cecil Park, Denham Court, Ingleburn, Kemps Creek, Leppington, Mount Pritchard, and Rossmore. Cartwright is a suburb in south-western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 38 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool. Geography It is bounded by the suburbs of Prestons, Miller, Ashcroft, Sadlier, Lurnea and Liverpool. Housing in the area is a combination of houses, newly built duplexes and flats. Lurnea, New South Wales
Lurnea is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 35 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool. History Lurnea was originally home to the Cabrogal people who spoke the Darug language. Following British settlement of the area in the 1800s, it was given the colloquial name Hillview as the suburb had nice views of the surrounding Liverpool area, and this name persisted until after World War I when the land was converted into a soldier settlement which provided the soldiers with enough room for a house and a small farm. Horningsea Park is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Horningsea Park is located 39 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. History In 1819, Joshua John Moore a British grazier was granted in what was then known as Cabramatta. He named his property "Horningsea" after his birthplace, the village of Horningsea in Cambridgeshire, England.
