Canton Of Riez
The canton of Riez is an administrative division in southeastern France. Riez
Riez (; Provençal: ''Riés'') is a commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France. Geography The densely built village sits where two small rivers join—the Auvestre and the Colostre—in a glacially widened valley. Population Economy Riez is located in a district of fields of commercially grown lavender, which support a honey-making industry. Truffles are found: there is a weekly truffle market on Wednesdays from late November through March. History The domed hill was the hillfort headquarters of the Reii a Celto-Ligurian tribe, who gave their name to the Roman community in the valley floor near it: ''Alebaece Reiorum'' it was called, then ''Alebaece Reiorum Apollinares'' from the Roman temple of Apollo from which four Corinthian columns yet stand. The name evolved to ''Regium'' (until the 8th century) then ''Regina'' (until the 11th century). A bishop of Riez is known from an early date, though the first bishop is purely legendary. ...

Tartonne (; oc, Tartona) is a commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France. The name of the inhabitants is ''Tartonnais''. Geography Site and climate The village of Tartonne is located bottom of Valley, altitude, greatly influencing the climate; the differences of temperatures on the same day are very important: in 2004, the mean amplitude of temperature was 27 °C. The landscape is marked by , a sedimentary rock of black color which is very soft and crumbly to air, but which is very strong in the subsoil. Hydrography The river Asse de Clumanc has its source in the north of the commune. Environment The commune has of woods and forests, though only 4.5% of its area. Senez
Senez is a commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in southeastern France. Ecclesiastical history Marcellus I, the first known bishop of Senez, attended the Council of Agde in 506 CE; nevertheless, Senez must have been an episcopal city as early as 439 CE. Jean IV Soanen, the Oratorian, noted for his opposition to the Bull "Unigenitus", was Bishop of Senez from 1696 until the time of his deposition in 1727.
