Cadenatres
Cadenatres was a Mexican free-to-air network owned by Grupo Empresarial Ángeles (GEA), a company headed by Olegario Vázquez Raña and directed by Olegario Vázquez Aldir. Originally started by its flagship XHTRES in Mexico City as an independent terrestrial television station serving the Federal District and the Valley of Mexico, it later expanded coverage throughout the entire country through various subscription television systems and a handful of free-to-air affiliates. Cadenatres was shut down on 26 October 2015, to allow Grupo Imagen, the communications subsidiary of GEA, to focus on building the Imagen Televisión national network, which launched on 17 October 2016. XHTRES-TDT was a full-power television station in Mexico City, Mexico, broadcasting in digital on UHF channel 27. From 2006 to 2015, it was the flagship station of the now defunct network cadenatres and from 2013 to 2020, it was the flagship station of the Excélsior TV news network. It is licensed to Compañía Internacional de Radio y Televisión, S.A. (CIRT), which is owned by Grupo Empresarial Ángeles (GEA), a company headed by Olegario Vázquez Raña and directed by Olegario Vázquez Aldir, through its Grupo Imagen communications unit. Imagen Televisión is a national broadcast television network in Mexico, owned by Grupo Imagen. It launched on October 17, 2016, at 8 p.m. History Imagen on television In 2006, Imagen's parent, Grupo Empresarial Ángeles, acquired XHRAE-TV channel 28 in Mexico City from its previous owner, beleaguered businessman Raúl Aréchiga Espinoza, for US$126 million. Excélsior TV
Excélsior TV is a Mexican FTA news channel owned by Grupo Imagen. It is named for Imagen's ''Excélsior'' newspaper and also uses the resources of Grupo Imagen's radio stations and its Imagen Televisión national network. History Excélsior TV was launched on September 2, 2013. In addition to cable carriage, it was placed on the 27.2 subchannel of XHTRES-TDT, Imagen's existing Mexico City TV station. Grupo Imagen is a Mexican media conglomerate, part of Grupo Empresarial Ángeles. History Grupo Imagen traces its roots to the foundation of XEDA-AM in June 1936. This station was acquired by José Luis Fernández Soto in 1962, and in the same year, Fernández Soto founded "Grupo Imagen Comunicación en Radio", which became the operator of XEDA-AM and XEDA-FM. In 1963, Grupo Imagen doubled in size with the acquisition of Radio Metropolitana and its XELA- AM- FM cluster. With these four stations, Grupo Imagen began to form a wide range of programming.
