Chinu Modi
Chinu Modi ( gu, ચિનુ મોદી ), (30 September 1939 – 19 March 2017), also known by his pen name Irshad (Gujarati: ઈર્શાદ), was a Gujarati language poet, novelist, short story writer and critic from Gujarat, India. Educated in languages, he taught at various institutions and established himself as a poet and author. He was a recipient of several awards including Sahitya Akademi Award, Vali Gujarati Award and Narsinh Mehta Award. Life Early life Modi was born in Vijapur on 30 September 1939 to Chandulal and Shashikantaben. His family belonged to Kadi. He completed his primary education in Vijapur and secondary education from Sheth Hasanali High School in Dholka near Ahmedabad. He completed his matriculation in 1954. He completed a B.A. in Gujarati and History in 1958 from St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad, an LL.B. in 1960 from Sir L.A. Vijapur
Vijapur is a city and a municipality in the Mehsana district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Notables 1.Vijapur is the birthplace of Jain monk Buddhisagar Suri. Buddhisagarsuri (1874–1925) was an ascetic, philosopher and author of the early 20th century. He wrote more than one hundred books. He was born in nearby Manipura village. His birth name was Patel. Dholka
Dholka is a city and municipality in the Ahmedabad District of the Indian state of Gujarat. Geet (song or lyrical poetry) (Hindi:गीत) (Urdu:گیت) in Hindi and in Urdu may refer to any poem set to music that can be sung alone or as a duet or in Choir, chorus. It has remained popular in all parts of the Indian sub-continent particularly in the Hindi and Urdu speaking areas. In its classical form a Geet conforms to Prabandha, a composition bound by Dhatu that comprises Sthayi, Antara (music), Antara, Dhrupad etc.; and Anga that comprises etc. Therefore, it has a beginning part known as Prabandha which is followed by an Udgraah or Dhruv which is its part that is repeatedly sung and cannot be left out, the ending part is known as Aabhog and that part of the geet which is between Dhruv and Aabhog is called Pada or Antara.
