Cache County, Utah
Cache County ( ) is a county located in the Wasatch Front region of Utah. As of the 2020 United States Census the population was 133,154. Its county seat and largest city is Logan. Cache County is included in Logan metropolitan area. History Indigenous peoples occupied the valleys of present Cache County as much as 10,000 BCE. Near the present epoch, the valley served the Plains Indians and the Shoshone. Trappers and explorers visited the area in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. John Henry Weber and Jim Bridger came through in 1824; Peter Skene Ogden and James Beckwourth passed through in 1825. In July 1855, a group of Mormon settlers drove a herd of cattle into the valley and camped at Haw Bush Spring (present Elkhorn Ranch). However, the cold winter drove the settlers back to the Salt Lake Valley. Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world. As of 2021 there were over a million active players in the United States. Geocaching can be considered a Location-based game. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and sometimes a pen or pencil. The geocacher signs the log with their established code name and dates it, in order to prove that they found the cache. After signing the log, the cache must be placed back exactly where the person found it. In computing, a cache ( ) is a hardware or software component that stores data so that future requests for that data can be served faster; the data stored in a cache might be the result of an earlier computation or a copy of data stored elsewhere. ''Caché'' (), also known as ''Hidden'' (United Kingdom), is a 2005 psychological thriller film written and directed by Michael Haneke and starring Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche. The plot follows an upper-middle-class French couple, Georges (Auteuil) and Anne (Binoche), who are terrorised by anonymous tapes that appear on their front porch and seem to show the family is under surveillance. Clues in the videos point to Georges's childhood memories, and his resistance to his parents' adopting an Algerian orphan named Majid, who was sent away. The tapes lead him to the now-grown Majid (Maurice Bénichou). Shot in Paris and Vienna in 2004, the film is an international co-production of France, Austria, Germany and Italy. Cache Junction (pronounced ) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Cache County, Utah, United States. The population was 38 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Logan, Utah-Idaho (partial) Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Cache Junction is located at (41.836370, -112.000202). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.0 square miles (15.6 km2), of which 5.7 square miles (14.7 km2) is land and 0.3 square mile (0.9 km2) (5.82%) is water. Cache is a city in Comanche County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 2,796 at the 2010 census. It is an exurb included in the Lawton, Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is the location of Star House, the home of the Comanche chief Quanah Parker, the major leader of the Quahadi Comanche in the years of Indian Wars and transition to reservation life. Cache Peak (Idaho)
Cache Peak, at above sea level, is the highest peak in the Albion Mountains of Cassia County in Southern Idaho. Cache Peak is located in the central part of the range southeast of Oakley and north of Almo in the Albion Division of the Minidoka Ranger District of Sawtooth National Forest. Cache Peak is in the watershed of tributaries of the Snake River, which itself is a tributary of the Columbia River. The peak is a part of the Great Basin Divide and the Basin and Range Province. It is the highest peak in Idaho south of the Snake River Plain, the highest in Cassia County, and north of City of Rocks National Reserve. The Independence Lakes are located in the basin north of the peak, and Mount Independence is about northwest of the peak.
