BeZ Bileta
beZ bileta is a Belarusian alternative rock band from Minsk active since 1998. History The group was formed in Minsk by Vitaly Artist in 1998. Having started with folk songs in Belarusian, by 2004, the band moved on to a more complex electronic and indie rock style. beZ bileta have won the Rock Coronation Belarusian Music Award on several occasions, including in 2000 as "Discovery of the Year", "Song of the Year" in 2001 for their hit "My Motherland Belarus", and in 2009, where they received the main prize, the "Rock Crown", as well as prizes in the categories "Album of the Year" and "Video of the Year". The band has performed at numerous festivals, both at home and abroad, including at Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk (Belarus), Basovišča (Poland), Fiesta Borealis (Poland—together with Hair Peace Salon and Jitters), Spirit of Woodstock (Italy), and Good-By (Germany). Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Donald F. Tuzin (June 14, 1945 – April 15, 2007) was an American social anthropologist best known for his ethnographic work on the Ilahita Arapesh, a horticultural people living in northeast lowland New Guinea, and for comparative studies of gender and sexuality within Melanesia. Tuzin was born in Chicago, Illinois, grew up in Winona, Minnesota, and spent his teen years again in Chicago. He received his B.A. from Western Reserve University in Ohio (shortly before its merger with Case Institute of Technology), where he became interested in anthropology and participated in the excavation of Native American archaeological sites left by the Mound Builders. The band was formed in 1998 and released the album ''Split Before, Together Now'' (with Hair Peace Salon), as well as several EPs. Basovišča
Basóvišča (pronounced ; Music Festival of Young Belarus) is the festival of Belarusian alternative and rock music, which is annually conducted by the Belarusian Association of Students since 1990. The festival takes place during two July days in the Borak forest near Gmina of Gródek, Poland. The important part of the festival is the music contest, in which young bands compete for prizes - usually money and rights to record their album for free. Well-known stars of Belarusian, Rock music in Ukraine, Ukrainian and Polish rock-scene usually perform there too. From five to twelve thousand people come to the festival every year.
