The badminton mixed doubles tournament at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place from 28 July to 3 August at Wembley Arena. The draw was held on 23 July 2012. Thirty-two players from 14 nations competed in the event. The Chinese team of Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei won the gold medal, defeating Xu Chen and Ma Jin, also from China, in the final. Michael Fuchs (born 22 April 1982) is a retired international level badminton player from Germany. Michael Fuchs concentrates on doubles badminton competing with Johannes Schöttler in Men's and with Birgit Michels in the Mixed event. Kamilla Rytter Juhl
Kamilla Rytter Juhl (born 23 November 1983) is a retired Danish badminton player. Juhl is an Olympic silver medalist, World Championship gold medalist and seven times European champion as well. Career Rytter Juhl played as a left-handed doubles specialist. Juhl enjoyed a successful mixed doubles career with Thomas Laybourn, winning the 2009 BWF World Championships and two European titles in 2006 and 2010. The pair also won the BWF World Superseries Finals in 2008, and won a total of two Superseries titles. Thomas Laybourn
Thomas Laybourn (born 30 September 1977) is a retired badminton player from Denmark. He is a World Champion, two times European Champion and was ranked as world number 1 in the mixed doubles in January 2011. Career Laybourn won the 2006 European Badminton Championships in the mixed doubles with partner Kamilla Rytter Juhl. He also competed at the 2006 IBF World Championships in mixed doubles (with Juhl), and were defeated in the quarterfinals by Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms 14–21, 17–21. Grace Gao (, born October 17, 1989) is a Chinese-born Canadian female badminton player from Calgary, Alberta. Toby Ng
Tobias Ng (born 8 October 1985) is a Canadian badminton player. Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Ng's father is from Hong Kong and his mother from Macau. He started playing badminton at the Kensington Community Centre, when he was about six years old. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the mixed doubles event with partner Grace Gao. Reiko Shiota
is a Japanese badminton player, affiliated with the Sanyo electric team. Shiota was the bronze medallist at the 2007 World Championships in the women's doubles event partnered with Kumiko Ogura. She also won the silver and bronze medals at the 2006 Asian Games in the women's team and doubles respectively. is a male badminton player from Japan. Career Ikeda won the bronze medal in the 2007 BWF World Championships in men's doubles with Shuichi Sakamoto. Nadieżda "Nadia" Zięba (; : Kostiuczyk; born 21 May 1984) is a Polish retired badminton player of Belarusian origin. She won the mixed doubles gold medal at the 2012 European Championships. Zięba was three times mixed doubles quarter finalists in the badminton at the Summer Olympics. Career Kostiuczyk played the 2007 BWF World Championships in mixed doubles with Robert Mateusiak. Robert Bogumił Mateusiak (born 13 January 1976) is a Polish retired badminton player. Career Łogosz and Mateusiak won bronze medals at the European Championships in 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006. Partnered with Nadieżda Zięba in the mixed doubles event, they won a silver medal at the 2008 European Badminton Championships and a gold medal at the 2012 European Badminton Championships. Imogen Bankier
Imogen Bankier (born 18 November 1987) is a businesswoman and former badminton player from Scotland. After starting playing the sport at the age of 9, Bankier won the national championships at every age level from Under 17 upwards. The highlight of her professional career was reaching the final of the mixed doubles at the 2011 World Championships in Wembley, London. She and her partner Chris Adcock were defeated in the match by the Chinese team of Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei. Chris Adcock
Christopher Thomas Adcock (born 27 April 1989) is a retired English badminton player. Adcock is currently sponsored by Yonex and YC Sports and plays for the University of Nottingham-based NBL team. He entered the National team in 2006, and later won the boys' doubles and mixed team titles at the 2007 European Junior Championships. He was a World Championships medalists winning a silver in 2011 with Imogen Bankier and a bronze in 2017 with Gabby Adcock.
