Bridgerweight is a weight class in professional boxing created and used by the World Boxing Council (WBC). The weight is named after six-year-old American Bridger Walker, who saved his four-year-old sister from a stray dog in July 2020. Óscar Rivas
Óscar Andres Rivas Torres (born 6 June 1987) is a Colombian professional boxer who has held the WBC bridgerweight title since 2021. He also challenged for the vacant WBC interim heavyweight title in 2019, and previously held the IBF International, WBC- NABF and WBO-NABO heavyweight titles. As an amateur he won a silver medal at the 2007 Pan American Games. Ryan Rozicki is a Canadian professional boxer who challenged for the WBC bridgerweight title in 2021. Career Rozicki started boxing at the age of 15. He made his professional debut on October 15, 2016, defeating Donald Willis via third-round technical knockout (TKO) at the Aitken Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick and in June of 2018 signed with Dan Otter’s Three Lions Promotions. He won the CPBC North American cruiserweight title in 2017, stopping journeyman Álvaro Enriquez in the second round to move to 5–0. The World Boxing Council (WBC) is an international professional boxing organization. It is among the four major organizations which sanction professional boxing bouts, alongside the World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO). Professional Boxing
Professional boxing, or prizefighting, is regulated, sanctioned boxing. Professional boxing bouts are fought for a purse bid, purse that is divided between the boxers as determined by contract. Most professional bouts are supervised by a regulatory authority to guarantee the fighters' safety. Most high-profile bouts obtain the endorsement of a sanctioning body, which awards championship belts, establishes rules, and assigns its own judges and referees. Technical Decision
A technical decision is a term used in boxing when a fight has to be stopped because of a headbutt. In boxing fights, referees have to pay deep attention to the action going on between the fighters, especially when the two combatants are fighting close to each other. That is because in the case of a cut, the referee must decide whether the cut was caused by a punch or a head collision. Only the referee can make that decision. Most head collisions in boxing are probably unintentional, especially when both boxers are trying for a knockout, many times getting involved in close range fights. If a boxer intentionally butts an opponent's head, that is considered a flagrant foul that could result in disqualification of the offender. Unanimous Decision
A unanimous decision (UD) is a winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, mixed martial arts and other sports involving striking and submission in which all three judges agree on which fighter won the match. In boxing, each of the three judges keep score (round by round) of which fighter they feel is winning (and losing). This only includes landed blows to the head or the body. In MMA, judges look for different criteria such as kicks, take downs, punches, knees, elbows, cage control, submission attempts and aggression.
