The Bishop of Grantham is an episcopal title used by a suffragan bishop of the Church of England Diocese of Lincoln, in the Province of Canterbury, England. A suffragan bishop is a type of bishop in some Christian denominations. In the Anglican Communion, a suffragan bishop is a bishop who is subordinate to a metropolitan bishop or diocesan bishop (bishop ordinary) and so is not normally jurisdictional in their role. Timothy William Ellis (born 26 August 1953) is a retired British bishop of the Church of England. From 2006 to 2013, he was Bishop of Grantham, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Lincoln; he was also an area bishop from 2010 until 31 January 2013. Alastair Llewellyn John Redfern (born 1 September 1948) is a retired Church of England bishop, who served as Bishop of Derby from 2005 to 2018. Early life and education Redfern studied at Christ Church, Oxford. He received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 2001 from the University of Bristol. The Bishop of Truro is the ordinary (diocesan bishop) of the Church of England Diocese of Truro in the Province of Canterbury. History There had been between the 9th and 11th centuries a Bishopric of Cornwall until it was merged with Crediton and the sees were transferred to Exeter in 1050. The Diocese of Truro was established by Act of Parliament in 1876 under Queen Victoria. It was created by the division of the Diocese of Exeter in 1876 approximately along the Devon-Cornwall border (a few parishes of Devon west of the River Tamar were included in the new diocese). Bill Ind
William Ind (born 26 March 1942) is a retired English Anglican bishop. He was formerly the Bishop of Truro. The son of William Robert Ind and Florence Emily Spritey, Ind was educated at the Duke of York's School in Dover, at the University of Leeds, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in history in 1964 and at the College of the Resurrection in Mirfield. Career Ind was ordained deacon in 1966 and priest in 1967. From 1966 to 1971, he was curate of Feltham and from 1971 to 1973 of St Mary's Northolt. Dennis Gascoyne Hawker (8 February 192131 January 2003) was the eighth Bishop of Grantham. Educated at Addey and Stanhope School and Queens' College, Cambridge, Hawker served in the Royal Marines during the Second World War before he was made a deacon on Trinity Sunday 1950 (4 June) and ordained a priest the next Trinity Sunday (20 May 1951) — both times by Geoffrey Fisher, Archbishop of Canterbury at Canterbury Cathedral. Ross Hook
Ross Sydney Hook (19 February 1917 – 26 June 1996) was an Anglican bishop in the 20th century. Educated at Christ's Hospital and Peterhouse, Cambridge, he was made a deacon on Trinity Sunday 1941 (8 June) by Cyril Garbett, Bishop of Winchester, and ordained a priest the following Trinity Sunday (31 May 1942) by Mervyn Haigh, Bishop of Winchester — both times at Winchester Cathedral.
