Baretta
''Baretta'' is an American detective television series which ran on ABC from 1975 to 1978. The show was a revised and milder version of a 1973–1974 ABC series, '' Toma'', starring Tony Musante as chameleon-like, real-life New Jersey police officer David Toma. When Musante left the series after a single season, the concept was retooled as ''Baretta'', with Robert Blake in the title role. "Keep Your Eye on the Sparrow," the show's theme music, was composed by Dave Grusin and Morgan Ames and sung by Sammy Davis Jr., in addition to being a chart hit for two other artists. Robert Blake (actor)
Robert Blake (born Michael James Gubitosi; September 18, 1933) is an American retired actor known for his roles in the 1967 film ''In Cold Blood'' and the 1970s U.S. television series ''Baretta''. Blake began acting as a child, with a lead role in the final years of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's '' Our Gang'' (''Little Rascals'') short film series from 1939 to 1944. He also appeared as a child actor in 22 entries of the ''Red Ryder'' film franchise. In the ''Red Ryder'' series and in many of his adult roles, the Italian-American actor was often cast as an American Indian or Latino character. After a stint in the United States Army, Blake returned to acting in both television and movie roles. Blake continued acting until 1997's '' Lost Highway''. "Keep Your Eye on the Sparrow", also known as "Baretta's Theme", is a song written by Morgan Ames and Dave Grusin, recorded by multiple artists during the summer of 1975. Merry Clayton's version was the first to chart, reaching #45 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100. A version by Rhythm Heritage became a Top 20 hit in 1976. The series stars Tony Musante as a real-life detective Dave Toma, who was a master of disguise and undercover work. Tom Ewell
Tom Ewell (born Samuel Yewell Tompkins, April 29, 1909 – September 12, 1994) was an American film, stage and television actor, and producer. His most successful and most identifiable role was that of Richard Sherman in ''The Seven Year Itch'', a character he played in the Broadway production (1952–1954) and reprised for the 1955 film adaptation. Triton Cockatoo
The Triton cockatoo (''Cacatua galerita triton'') is one of the four subspecies of the sulphur-crested cockatoo. The cockatoo was first described by Dutch zoologist, Coenraad Jacob Temminck, in 1849. There is no documentation as to why Temminck selected this name however it is suggested that it was named after the Dutch corvette, ''Triton'', which operated off the Dutch New Guinea coastline, in 19th century. It is considered a pest in its natural habitat. Description It is white, with a large yellow crest that it can raise. It is long, weighing and can live up to 40 years. Robert David "Dave" Grusin (born June 26, 1934) is an American composer, arranger, producer, jazz pianist, and band leader. He has composed many scores for feature films and television, and has won numerous awards for his soundtrack and record work, including an Academy Awards, Academy Award and 10 Grammy Awards. In 1978, Grusin founded GRP Records with Larry Rosen (producer), Larry Rosen, and was an early pioneer of digital recording.
