Phillippe Aumont (born January 7, 1989) is a Canadian former professional baseball pitcher, who played for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners 11th overall in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft, and was the third earliest Canadian pick (after Adam Loewen and Jeff Francis, both picked in 2002) as well as the first player born in Quebec to be selected in the first round of the draft. Early life Aumont was raised in a low-income housing complex in Quebec, the third of four siblings. His mother worked in a hotel and his father for a moving company. As a child Aumont's first love was baseball. He played with different regional and provincial teams, while attending high school at École secondaire du Versant in Gatineau, Quebec. Maria Christina "Tina" Aumont (February 14, 1946 – October 28, 2006) was an American actress. She was the daughter of French actor Jean-Pierre Aumont and Dominican actress Maria Montez. She made her acting debut in the British film ''Modesty Blaise'' (1966), but later had a prominent career as a leading lady in Italian films. Jean-Pierre Aumont (born Jean-Pierre Philippe Salomons; 5 January 1911 – 30 January 2001) was a French actor, and holder of the Légion d'Honneur and the Croix de guerre 1939–1945, Croix de Guerre for his World War II military service. Aumont-Aubrac (; oc, Autmont d'Aubrac or ''Z-Autmont d'Aubrac'') is a former commune in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region of southern France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the new commune Peyre-en-Aubrac. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Aumonais'' or ''Aumonaises''. Geography Aumont-Aubrac is located some 12 km south of Saint-Chély-d'Apcher and some 35 km north by north-west of Mende. Access to the commune is by the A75 autoroute which passes through the length of the commune from north to south with Exit 35 north of the town and Exit 36 south of the town.
