Jari Askins
Jari Askins (born April 27, 1953) is an American judge, lawyer and Democratic politician from the US state of Oklahoma. She was the 15th lieutenant governor of Oklahoma, being the second woman and the first female Democratic Party member to hold that position. Askins won the Oklahoma Democratic Party's 2010 gubernatorial nomination by defeating Attorney General Drew Edmondson. She was defeated in the general election by Republican Congresswoman Mary Fallin. Early life, education and career Askins was born on April 27, 1953, in Duncan, Oklahoma. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1971. She then attended the University of Oklahoma to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 1975. While at OU, she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Askins received a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1980. After graduating from OU, she entered into private practice. In 1982, Askins was appointed Special District Judge of Stephens County, Oklahoma. ...

Keith Askins
Keith Bernard Askins (born December 15, 1967) is a retired American professional basketball player. Basketball career After playing at the University of Alabama, the 6'7" Askins signed with the National Basketball Association's Miami Heat in 1990, after not being drafted. A versatile athlete who could guard multiple positions, he spent his entire career with the Heat as a reserve and defensive specialist, retiring after being waived in 1999 with career totals of 1,852 points and 1,428 rebounds. Immediately after retiring, Askins joined the Heat's coaching staff, going on to serve as assistant for Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra and winning three championships. In September 2013, he was promoted to the team's director of college and pro scouting. A career all spent with the Heat either as a player, assistant coach, or front office executive, Askins is into his 32nd season with the same franchise as of 2022. Charles Askins
Charles Askins, Jr. (October 28, 1907 – March 2, 1999), also known as Col. Charles "Boots" Askins, was an American lawman, US Army officer, and writer. He served in law enforcement (US Forest Service and Border Patrol) in the American Southwest prior to the Second World War. Askins was the son of Major Charles "Bobo" Askins, a sports writer and Army officer who served in the Spanish–American War and World War I. Early life Askins was born in Nebraska, raised in Oklahoma and his first job was fighting forest fires in Montana. In 1927, the US Forest Service transferred him to New Mexico to be a Park Ranger at the Kit Carson National Forest. The US Border Patrol Askins was recruited by the U.S. Border Patrol in 1930. In his memoir ''Unrepentant Sinner'', Askins recounted that he had been involved in at least one gunfight every week.
