Beaune
Beaune () is the wine capital of Burgundy in the Côte d'Or department in eastern France. It is located between Lyon and Dijon. Beaune is one of the key wine centers in France, and the center of Burgundy wine production and business. The annual wine auction of the Hospices de Beaune is the primary wine auction in France. The town is surrounded by some of the world's most famous wine villages, while the facilities and cellars of many producers, large and small, are situated in the historic center of Beaune itself, as they have been since Roman times. With a rich historical and architectural heritage, Beaune is considered the "Capital of Burgundy wines". It is an ancient and historic town on a plain by the hills of the Côte d'Or, with features remaining from the pre-Roman and Roman eras, through the medieval and renaissance periods. Arnay-le-Duc
Arnay-le-Duc () is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Arnétois'' or ''Arnétoises'' Geography Arnay-le-Duc is located some 25 km north-west of Beaune and some 35 km south-east of Saulieu. Access to the commune is by the D906 road from Lacanche in the south-east passing through the town and continuing north-west. The D981 comes from the end of the A38 autoroute in the north-east and passes through the town continuing to the south-west where it becomes National Highway N81. These two roads were originally Gallo-Roman roads linking Autun and Alesia, then in the Middle Ages linking the Rhone corridor to fairs in Champagne. Baubigny () is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Balbiniacois'' or ''Balbiniacoises''. Geography Baubigny is located some 12 km south-west of Beaune and 8 km north-east of Chagny. Access to the commune is by the D111D from La Rochepot in the south which goes to the village then continues east to join the D973 on the eastern border of the commune. The D906 passes along the western border and the north of the commune as it goes from Saint-Aubin to Ivry-en-Montagne. The D171 goes north from the village to join the D17 just north-east of the commune. Apart from the village there are the hamlets of Évelle and Orches. Barges () is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. Geography Barges is located some 12 km due south of Dijon. Access to the commune is by the D996 road from Saulon-la-Rue in the north which passes down the eastern side of the commune and continues south-east to Noiron-sous-Gevrey. Access to the village is by the D109 from Épernay-sous-Gevrey in the south which enters the commune in the west and continues north-east through the village and continues east as the D31 to Bretenière. Bagnot () is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. Geography Bagnot is located some 30 km south of Dijon and 15 km east by north-east of Beaune. Access to the commune is by the D20 from Argilly in the west which passes through the village and continues east to Auvillars-sur-Saône. The D35E goes south from the village to the D973. The A36 autoroute passes through the south of the commune from west to east but has no exit in the commune. The nearest exit is Exit 1 some 5 km east of the commune. Auxant () is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of central-eastern France. Geography Auxant is located some 20 km north-west of Beaune and 12 km east of Arnay-le-Duc. Access to the commune is by the D 970 road from Sainte-Sabine in the north which passes through the centre of the commune east of the village and continues south-east to Bligny-sur-Ouche. The D 17 road from Antigny-le-Château in the west passes through the south of the commune and joins the D 970 to the south-east. Auvillars-sur-Saône (, literally ''Auvillars on Saône'') is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. Geography Auvillars-sur-Saône is located some 14 km south-east of Nuits-Saint-Georges and 20 km east by north-east of Beaune. Access to the commune is by the D996 road from Corcelles-lès-Cîteaux in the north which passes south down the western side of the commune to Pouilly-sur-Saône. The D35A branches off the D996 in the commune and goes to the village then continues south to Glanon. The D20 branches west off the D996 and goes to Bagnot.
