Elinor Armer (born October 6, 1939) is an American pianist, music educator and composer. Biography Elinor Armer was born in Oakland, California but at the age of 2 months moved to Davis, California with her family where she would spend most of her childhood. Armer’s father worked as an engineer and worked for the Agricultural Engineering Department for the University in Davis, which prompted the family’s move. Her father was an acoustical engineer and used to set up speakers in the family’s living room, exposing Elinor to acoustics at a young age. Elinor first began sight-reading music and enjoying four-part harmony because of many hymnals found in the Armer home, due to her father’s Methodist Evangelist background. Alan A. Armer (7 July 1922 – 5 December 2010) was an American television producer, best known for his Emmy-award winning tenure as the producer of '' The Fugitive''. He also produced ''The Invaders'', ''The Untouchables'' and the first year of ''Cannon''. Early life Born in Los Angeles, Armer received a bachelor's degree in speech and drama from Stanford University, a master's degree in theatre arts from UCLA and an honorary doctoral degree from California State University, Northridge. Career After college, Armer started his entertainment career at a radio station in San Jose where he worked as an announcer. After moving back to Los Angeles in search of a radio job, Armer began working at an advertising agency that specialized in television ads. Laura Adams Armer
Laura Adams Armer (January 12, 1874 – March 16, 1963) was an American artist and writer. In 1932, her novel ''Waterless Mountain'' won the Newbery Medal. She was also an early photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area. An online facsimile of the entire text of Vol. 1 is posted on the Traditional Fine Arts Organization website (). Biography Laura May Adams was born in Sacramento, California, and relocated with her family to San Francisco before 1880. Her father was a carpenter and her mother a dressmaker. In 1893 she began her art studies at the California School of Design in the Mark Hopkins Institute and left in 1899 to open her own photographic studio in the Flood Building.
