Harold Arlin
Harold Wampler Arlin (December 8, 1895–March 14, 1986) was an American engineer and foreman and was arguably the world's first full-time and salaried announcer in broadcast radio. Arlin originally worked as an engineer and later foreman for the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company when he was hired as a part-time announcer by KDKA, the nation's first commercially licensed radio station, in Pittsburgh in 1920. On November 2, 1920, Arlin made history as the radio's first announcer when he read over-the-air the returns to the 1920 presidential election between Senator Warren G. Harding and Governor James M. Cox. Arlin was soon hired full-time at KDKA. During his tenure at KDKA, Arlin became the first to announce radio broadcasts of a baseball game (August 5, 1921), tennis match (August 6, 1921), football game (October 8, 1921), and a boxing match (September 14, 1923). Arlin Godwin is an Electronic music, electronic musician and filmmaker from Washington, DC. Early life Godwin was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. Career Music Godwin started his career working at a local radio station, before becoming more interested in the music itself. He produced his first album, ''The Secret Life of Boys'', and released it in 2002 after working on it for a year. One of the singles off of the album, "Boy Seventeen", led to him signing to the San Francisco label INgrooves in 2003. Godwin began performing live in 2004. Film Godwin has directed two short films. Arlin Marvin Adams (April 16, 1921 – December 22, 2015) was a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. As late as 2013 he served as counsel to Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, anwas listedas a NAFTA adjudicator. Early life and education Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Adams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1941 from Temple University, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1947, and a Master of Arts degree from Temple in 1950. Pensacola Christian College (PCC) is a private Independent Baptist college in Pensacola, Florida. Founded in 1974 by Arlin and Beka Horton, it has been accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools since 2013. History Arlin and Beka Horton graduated from Bob Jones University in 1951, and moved to Pensacola, Florida in 1952 to found a Christian grade school. That school, Pensacola Christian Grade School, opened in 1954; it was later renamed Pensacola Christian Academy. In 1974, the Hortons opened Pensacola Christian College to further their vision of "Education from a Christian Perspective."
