Area code 952 is the telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the southwestern suburbs of Minneapolis-St. Paul in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The numbering plan area (NPA) includes cities such as Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina and Minnetonka. It was created in 2000 along with area code 763 (northwest suburbs) when they were carved out of area code 612, which now only contains Minneapolis and a few inner-ring locales. The area code splits in the Twin Cities are unusual because they split along municipal lines, rather than central office boundaries. This led to numerous exchanges being divided between two area codes. One central office, the Penn Avenue office in Minneapolis, had its geographical territory divided into area code 612 for portions in Minneapolis; 763 for portions in Golden Valley; and 952 for portions in St. Louis Park. Area code 507 is the telephone numbering plan code for the southern fifth of Minnesota, including cities such as Rochester, Mankato, Worthington, Fairmont, Albert Lea, Northfield, and Austin. It was the third area code created for use in the state in 1954, following the original 218 and 612. It was created from the southwestern portion of 218 and the southern portion of 612. In the original 1947 plan, area codes containing "0" (zero) as a middle digit were only assigned to states that were entirely covered by a single area code. Area code 507, along with area code 606 in Kentucky and area code 607 in New York, were the first area codes with a middle digit of "0" to be assigned to states that were covered by more than one area code. Elko New Market, Minnesota
Elko New Market is a city in Scott County, Minnesota, United States. It was founded in 2006 through a merger of bordering cities Elko and New Market. The population was 4,846 at the 2020 census. Served by Interstate 35 and Scott County Road 2, the city contains one public school, and is notable as the location of Elko Speedway. The New Market Hotel and Store is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The city contains a marker for the Big Woods of south–central Minnesota. Belle Plaine is a city in Scott County, Minnesota, United States, about 40 minutes southwest of Minneapolis. The population was 7,395 at the 2020 census. History Minnesota Territorial Supreme Court Judge Andrew G. Chatfield selected the townsite of Belle Plaine in 1853 while traveling from Mendota to Traverse des Sioux to hold court, as it was a halfway marker on his usual path of travel.
