Aral Sea
The Aral Sea ( ; kk, Арал теңізі, Aral teñızı; uz, Орол денгизи, Orol dengizi; kaa, Арал теңизи, Aral teńizi; russian: Аральское море, Aral'skoye more) was an endorheic basin, endorheic lake lying between Kazakhstan (Aktobe Region, Aktobe and Kyzylorda Regions) in the north and Uzbekistan (Karakalpakstan autonomous region) in the south which began shrinking in the 1960s and had largely dried up by the 2010s. The name roughly translates as "Sea of Islands", referring to over 1,100 islands that had dotted its waters. In the Mongolic languages, Mongolic and Turkic languages, ''aral'' means "island, archipelago". The Aral Sea drainage basin encompasses Uzbekistan and parts of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, and Iran. Meriç Aral (born 17 November 1988) is a Turkish actress. After studying law, she started acting and became known with her role as Hale in ''Medcezir''. She has taken part in various cinema and television productions. Life and career Aral was born on 17 November 1988, to parents who were lawyers. Coşkun Aral (born May 1, 1956) is a Turkish war correspondent, photo journalist, television journalist and documentary film producer. Life and work Aral was born on May 1, 1956 in Siirt, Turkey. Aral finished the secondary school and the high school in Istanbul. In 1974, he began photo journalism career in the newspapers '' Günaydın'' and ''Gün''. He transferred to the daily ''Ekonomi ve Politika'' in 1976. Aral gained recognition by the international press with the photos he shot during the Taksim Square massacre incident occurred on May 1, 1977, the Labour Day in Istanbul. His photos were distributed by the French photo agency Sipa Press and published in the news magazines ''Time'' and ''Newsweek''. Aral, also known as Aralsk or Aral'sk, ( Kazakh: Арал, ''Aral'', ارال; Russian: Аральск, ''Araljsk'') is a small city in south-western Kazakhstan, located in the ''oblast'' (region) of Kyzylorda. It serves as the administrative center of Aral District. Aral was formerly a fishing port and harbour city on the banks of the Aral Sea, and was a major supplier of fish to the neighboring region. Göran Aral
Göran Aral (born 3 July 1953 in Sweden) is a former Swedish footballer. Göran Aral was born in 1953 and is a product of the Djurgården youth system. At the beginning of the 1970s he was considered such a promising player that he was selected to go to London and train with Chelsea FC. However, a serious injury ended his career in 1977 at the age of 24. Aral was most recently with Swedish Allsvenskan side, Djurgården, serving as their Sport Director, overseeing the club's youth initiatives and technical system. Oğuz Aral (1936 – 26 July 2004) was a Turkish political cartoonist and comics artist, known for his satirical style. He was also active as a theatre designer, playwright, ceramist and animator, establishing the first Turkish animation studio. Hüseyin Cahit Aral (1927 – 1 November 2011) was a Turkish engineer, politician and former government minister. Cahit Aral was born 1927 in Elazığ to primary school teacher parents Fatma and Hakkı Aral. His was named in honor of the writer and journalist Hüseyin Cahit Yalçın (1875–1957). He graduated from the Istanbul Technical University. Cahit Aral entered politic after working some years in the industry. He was among the founders of the Motherland Party (ANAP), which was established after the 1980 Turkish coup d'état. He served as Minister of Industry of Commerce in the cabinet of Turgut Özal. Doğuhan Aral Şimşir (born 19 June 2002) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Lillestrøm, on loan from Midtjylland. Club career Midtjylland Şimşir was born to Turkish parents in Denmark.
