Alternative Rock
Alternative rock, or alt-rock, is a category of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1970s and became widely popular in the 1990s. "Alternative" refers to the genre's distinction from Popular culture, mainstream or commercial rock or pop music. Adam Again
Adam Again is an American Rock music, rock band that was active from 1982 until the 2000 death of founder, leader and vocalist Gene Eugene, with Riki Michele on vocals, Paul Valadez on bass, Jon Knox on drums, Greg Lawless on guitar. Dan Michaels often played saxophone. Thom Jurek of AllMusic has described them as "inventive and artfully canny." The band never achieved commercial viability and quit touring and recording together after March 20, 2000, when Eugene died in his recording studio, the "fabulous" The Green Room (recording studio), Green Room. The Aces (indie Pop Band)
The Aces (formerly The Blue Aces) are an American alternative pop band from Provo, Utah. The band has four members: guitarist Katie Henderson, bassist McKenna Petty, and sisters Alisa Ramirez (drums) and Cristal Ramirez (lead vocals and guitars). Their first single as the Aces, "Stuck", was released in 2016, eventually reaching #38 on the ''Billboard'' Alternative Songs chart in late 2017. The Accidentals
The Accidentals are an American band, formed in Traverse City, Michigan in 2012 by singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Sav Buist and Katie Larson. The group has featured an eclectic blend of indie folk, pop, bluegrass, rock, classical, and other genres. They have released five full-length albums, three EPs, and two live albums. Buist and Larson grew up in musical families, released their first two albums while in high school, hired percussionist Michael Dause in 2014, and began touring nationally. The band signed with a major label by the time the members were around age 21, but they later returned to releasing their recordings independently. Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, they also lead music workshops at schools across the US. Acceptance (band)
Acceptance is an American pop punk band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1998. They released their first EP, ''Lost for Words'', in 2000, followed by ''Black Lines to Battlefields'' in 2003 (this EP was also re-released with live bonus tracks). Their debut album, '' Phantoms'', was released in 2005. On January 26, 2015, it was announced that Acceptance had reunited. They released their first song in over ten years called "Take You Away" on May 8, 2015. A second studio album, titled ''Colliding by Design'', was released in 2017, followed by ''Wild, Free'' in 2020. Aaroh
Aaroh ( ) is an alternative rock band from Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, formed in 1998. The band was founded by keyboardist Kamran Khan and lead guitarist Nabeel Nihal . (This name was given to them by Shoaib Mansoor), who were joined by, Vocalist Farooq Ahmed, Bassist Khalid Khan and Drummer Adnan Hussain. The band achieved fame with their exuberant live performances backed up with thought provoking lyrics, and also, their performance in the Pakistani rock scene in 2002, most notably at the Pepsi Battles of the bands, helped them leave a trail for themselves. Soon, after the success of the battle of the bands, Hussain was replaced by drummer Jason Anthony and then the band went on releasing their critically acclaim debut album, '' Sawaal'', in September 2003. A Silent Film
A Silent Film are an English alternative rock band from Oxford. The band consists of Robert Stevenson (vocals/piano/guitar) and Spencer Walker (drums). Their first album, ''The City That Sleeps'', was released on 6 October 2008, with one reviewer describing it as "a surefire winner". One critic has said that A Silent Film's style "distinctly echoes" Coldplay, Snow Patrol and The Killers. Their latest album, '' A Silent Film'', was released in October 2015. A Rocket to the Moon (commonly abbreviated as ARTTM) was an American rock band formed during 2006 in Braintree, Massachusetts, United States, by Nick Santino, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Guitarist and backup vocalist Justin Richards (also of Brighten), bassist and backup vocalist Eric Halvorsen, and drummer Andrew Cook eventually joined the band, forming the final member lineup. A Perfect Circle is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. A Perfect Circle has released four studio albums, the first three during the early 2000s: ''Mer de Noms'', their debut album in 2000, and followed up by ''Thirteenth Step'' in 2003; then in 2004, '' Emotive''—an album of radically re-worked cover songs.
