Anajo
Anajo () was an indie pop band from Augsburg, Germany that was active between 1999 and 2014. Consisting of Oliver Gottwald (vocals, guitar), Michael Schmidt (bass, keyboards) and Ingolf Nössner (drums), the band produced guitar pop with electronic sounds, these being more prominent in earlier recordings. Anajo's debut album was released in 2004 and the band went on to record three further albums, the most commercially successful reaching No. 51 in the German charts. Oliver Gottwald
Oliver Gottwald (born 27 September 1978) is a German singer, guitarist and songwriter. He was the frontman of Anajo, but is now pursuing a solo career. Life Oliver Gottwald grew up in Schwabmünchen near Augsburg. In 2000 he and his band Anajo won the Augsburg young talent competition "Band of the Year". He signed a contract with the music publisher Warner/Chappell and the band released several EPs. In 2004 the Hamburg indie label Tapete Records Tapete Records is an independent record label based in Hamburg, Germany. It was founded in 2002 by Gunther Buskies and Dirk Darmstaedter and primarily focused on Deutschpop Bands such as Erdmöbel, Niels Frevert, Tele and Anajo. Since 2005 Ta ... signed the band. There they released four albums. In the autumn of 2014, the band announced that they would "go their separate ways".
