Al-Hamadaniah Stadium
Al-Hamadaniah Stadium ( ar, ملعب الحمدانية) is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium in Aleppo, Syria. It is mostly used for football matches and has a capacity of 15,000 spectators. Al-Hamadaniah Stadium is part of the Al-Hamadaniah Sports City. Since 2007, the stadium is served by a nearby artificial turf-football training ground with a capacity of 816 seats. The stadium serves as a home ground for Hurriya SC and sometimes for Al-Ittihad Aleppo as well. It hosted many of Syria national football team's matches before the inauguration of Aleppo International Stadium, which is near Al-Hamadaniah Stadium. The venue can also stage athletics tournaments with its up-to-date track and field facilities. History As part of the Al-Hamadaniah Sports City, the construction of the stadium was launched in 1982. FIFA Arab Cup
The FIFA Arab Cup ( ar, كأس العرب, translit=Kaʾs al-ʿArab), or simply Arab Cup, is an international association football competition which has been organized by FIFA since 2021, and is contested by the senior men's national teams of the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA), the sport's governing body for countries in the Arab world. The Arab Games ( ar, الألعاب العربية), also called the Pan Arab Games, are a regional multi-sport event held between nations from the Arab world. They are organized by the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees. The first Games took place in 1953 in Alexandria, Egypt. Intended to be held every four years since, political turmoil as well as financial difficulties have made the event an unstable one. Women first competed in 1985. History The Arab Games were the brainchild of Abdul Rahman Hassan Azzam, the first General Secretary of the Arab League (1945–1952). In 1947, Azzam submitted a memorandum to the League, advocating a multi-sport tournament which involved the participation of all Arab countries. The 1992 Pan Arab Games was the seventh edition of the quadrennial multi-sport event between Arab nations. It was held in Damascus, Syria between September 4 and September 18, 1992. A total of 2611 athletes from 18 countries participated in events in 14 sports. The event was greatly affected by the 1991 Gulf War, and several players from many arab countries refused to participate in the Games. Iraq and Libya don't took part to the games.
