Duran Duran (1993 Album)
''Duran Duran'' (commonly known as ''The Wedding Album'') is the seventh studio album and the second self-titled album by English new wave band Duran Duran. It was released on 11 February 1993 by Parlophone. After dwindling commercial success in the early 1990s, Duran Duran returned to the UK top five and US top 10 with this album, which has been certified Gold in the UK and Platinum in the US. The singles " Ordinary World" and " Come Undone" reached the US top 10 of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The cover art by Nick Egan features wedding photos from the parents of the four band members. Background Recording of the album was completed in early 1992 with an impending release by Capitol Records in the United States. Duran Duran's new management company, Left Bank, was distressed at the apparent lack of enthusiasm for the album and had it pulled from the release schedule. Wedding Album
''Wedding Album'' is the third and final in a succession of three experimental albums by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. It followed '' Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins'' and '' Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions''. In Britain, the album was released credited by "John and Yoko", without last names mentioned. In the United States, it was released credited by "John Ono Lennon & Yoko Ono Lennon." Recording "John & Yoko", the first side, a recording made on 22 and 27 April 1969, is of Lennon and Ono calling out each other's names, through a range of volume, tempos, and emotions, over the sound of their heartbeats. The two recorded on individual microphones. Lennon described the heartbeats as being "like African drums", and the piece being "like an extended, very extreme ''John and Marsha'' that was out years ago by Stan Freberg. ''Wedding Album'' is a studio album by Leon Russell and his then wife, Mary Russell, otherwise known as Mary McCreary. It was the first album released on Leon Russell's record label, Paradise Records, which was distributed by Warner Bros. Records. ''Cheech & Chong's Wedding Album'' is the fourth studio album recorded by comedy duo Cheech & Chong, released in 1974 on Ode Records. It was certified Gold by the RIAA. Cover art The album cover of ''Cheech & Chong's Wedding Album'' had concept origination, design and art direction by Peter Corriston and contained unique artwork that made the album look like an actual wedding album; the album's design was even nominated for a Grammy award. In the inner fold of the original vinyl LP, there are many pictures of the "wedding and reception". Cheech and Chong, both playing the groom, were dressed to look like conjoined twins, while the bride, a blonde whose face remained hidden by wearing a plain brown bag over her head in every photo, is in the late stages of pregnancy.
