''Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers'' is a 2022 American live-action/computer-animated action-adventure comedy film based on the characters Chip and Dale and continuation of the animated TV series of the same name. Directed by Akiva Schaffer and written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, the film stars John Mulaney and Andy Samberg as the voices of the titular pair, respectively, with KiKi Layne, Will Arnett, Eric Bana, Flula Borg, Dennis Haysbert, Keegan-Michael Key, Tress MacNeille, Tim Robinson, Seth Rogen, and J.K. Akiva Schaffer
Akiva D. Schaffer (; born December 1, 1977) is an American film director, comedian, actor, and writer. He is a member of the comedy group The Lonely Island along with Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone. He began his career with The Lonely Island making videos for Channel 101. In 2005, ''Saturday Night Live'' hired the trio, with Schaffer joining as a writer. In their time at ''SNL'', The Lonely Island pioneered the digital short format, creating some of the most popular sketches of all time, including " Lazy Sunday", "I Just Had Sex", "I'm on a Boat", and "Dick in a Box". The Lonely Island is an American comedy trio, formed by Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone in Berkeley, California, in 2001. They have written for and starred in the American TV program ''Saturday Night Live'' (''SNL''). The three first met in junior high. Chip and Dale (also spelled Chip 'n' Dale) is a cartoon duo of anthropomorphic chipmunks created in 1943 by The Walt Disney Company. Concept The characters were first drawn by Bill Justice and introduced in the 1943 Pluto short ''Private Pluto'', directed by Clyde Geronimi.
