The Menace (1928 Film)
''The Menace'' is a 1928 Australian silent film about the drug trade in Sydney. Production Sydney businessman Percy Juchau formed a film company in August 1926. It employed five people who had experience working in Hollywood – director Cyril Sharpe, camera technician Al True, crew members Al True and Eric Wilkinson, and Louise Miller. This was the only movie they made. It was shot in late 1926 and early 1927 at the Sydney Showground. Release The film was previewed but not released commercially. It was viewed by a film critic from the ''Sydney Morning Herald'' who criticised it for "unhealthy sensationalism". Sunset Bain is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is a shady businesswoman who occasionally masquerades as Madame Menace. Although very technologically adept, she personally does not have any super-powers. Publicly she is the CEO of Baintronics. Master Menace is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Two different versions of the character appear in two separate (but related) continuities, ''Squadron Supreme'' and ''Supreme Power''. Both bear the real name of Dr. Emil Burbank, though the former character has the middle name of "Zebediah". Master Menace is an analogue of Lex Luthor with elements of Doctor Doom. The Matchbox Educable Noughts and Crosses Engine (sometimes called the Machine Educable Noughts and Crosses Engine or MENACE) was a mechanical computer made from 304 matchboxes designed and built by artificial intelligence researcher Donald Michie in 1961. It was designed to play human opponents in games of noughts and crosses (tic-tac-toe) by returning a move for any given state of play and to refine its strategy through reinforcement learning. Michie did not have a computer readily available, so he worked around this restriction by building it out of matchboxes. The matchboxes used by Michie each represented a single possible layout of a noughts and crosses grid. When the computer first played, it would randomly choose moves based on the current layout. The menace response is one of three forms of blink reflex. It is the reflex blinking that occurs in response to the rapid approach of an object. The reflex comprises blinking of the eyelids, in order to protect the eyes from potential damage, but may also include turning of the head, neck, or even the trunk away from the optical stimulus that triggers the reflex. Stimulating the menace reflex is used as a diagnostic procedure in veterinary medicine, in order to determine whether an animal's visual system, in particular the cortical nerve, has suffered from nerve damage. Cortical damage, particularly cerebral lesions, can cause loss of the menace reflex while leaving the other blink reflexes, such as the dazzle reflex, unaffected. ''The Menace'' was a weekly newspaper published in Aurora, Missouri that developed a circulation of 1.5 million nationwide with a virulently anti-Catholic editorial stance. It promoted itself as "The World's Headquarters for Anti-Papal Literature." History ''The Menace'' was founded in 1911 by Wilbur Franklin Phelps within the first three years there were a million subscribers. It was an anti-Catholic publication. Along with the paper, the company also published anti-Catholic books and arranged engagements for anti-Catholic speakers. ''The Menace'' was published in Aurora from 1911 to 1920. In December 1919, the publishing plant burned down, arson was suspected. Publishing was moved to Branson, Missouri and the newspaper's name was changed to ''The New Menace''. Dennis Priestley (born 16 July 1950) is an English former professional darts player. He has won two world championships, and was the first player to win both the BDO and WDC (now PDC) world championships, in 1991 and 1994 respectively. He is nicknamed "The Menace", after the cartoon character Dennis the Menace, and reflects this by wearing red and black, and using red and black flights. Steel City Menace
The Steel City Menace were a professional indoor football team and a member of American Indoor Football that played part of the 2016 season. Originally based in Pueblo, Colorado, the Menace were to play their home games at the Southwest Motors Events Center, however, they ended up playing at an outdoor field and the two regular season league games they played were on the road. The Menace were the second indoor football team to call Pueblo home, after the Pueblo Pistols which played in the National Indoor Football League for the 2007 season before the team and the league folded. Originally, the Menace were going to be known as the Mile High Menace and play at the Magness Arena in Denver.
