''Kakkothikkavile Appooppan Thaadikal'' (English language, English: ) is a List of Malayalam films of 1988, 1988 Indian Malayalam cinema, Malayalam-language drama film produced jointly by Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy and Fazil (director), Fazil, directed by Kamaluddin Mohammed, Kamal and written by Fazil. The film is heroine-oriented, in which Revathi and Ambika (actress), Ambika play the lead roles. It features original songs composed by Ouseppachan, and the cinematography is done by Vipin Mohan. The film is pictured in rural locations, such as Pandalam, Kudassanad, and Venmony. It includes many sequences in school settings and of gypsy life. The film was a sleeper hit at the box office. Kamaluddin Mohammed Majeed, mononymously known as Kamal, is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer. He works in Malayalam cinema. He was the former Chairman of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. Kamal made his directorial debut with the 1986 film '' Mizhineerppoovukal''. In a career spanning over three decades, Kamal has directed over forty films. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Mela Raghu (Puthenveli Sasidharan, died: May 3, 2021) was an Indian actor who worked in the Malayalam film industry. Biography In 1980, at a circus show in Kozhikode, he caught the attention of actor Sreenivasan and got the opportunity to act in the film Mela. With his performance in this film, he came to be known as Mela Raghu. Philomina (1926 – 2 January 2006) was an Indian actress, who worked in the Malayalam film industry. She acted in more than 750 films in her career. She played mostly character and comedy roles, besides that of mother and grandmother. She started acting on the stage. Surasu
Surasu was a Malayalam–language playwright and actor from Kerala, India. He introduced to Malayali audiences a new genre of drama known as ''mozhiyattam'' which is a fusion of poetry and theatre. He won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1977 for the play ''Vishwaroopam'' which is regarded as his best work. Surasu wrote the script for some Malayalam films such as '' Randu Penkuttikal''. He also acted in a few films. 'Surasu' was his screen name selected by himself and literally that word means an alcoholic. Surasu was married to drama artist Ambujam Surasu, but the couple did not have children. He committed suicide at Kozhikode railway station in 1995. Since 2004, a drama festival is organised every year in Kozhikode, Kerala in memory of Surasu. The festival was earlier known as Surasu Drama Festival but has been renamed as Kozhikodan Drama Festival since 2010.
