''Don Juan in a Girls' School'' (german: Don Juan in der Mädchenschule) is a 1928 German silent comedy film directed by and starring Reinhold Schünzel. It is based on Hans Stürm's play '' The Unfaithful Eckehart''. The film's art direction was by Gustav A. Knauer and Willy Schiller. Two later film versions were '' The Unfaithful Eckehart'' (1931) and '' The Unfaithful Eckehart'' (1940). Reinhold Schünzel
Reinhold Schünzel (7 November 1888 – 11 November 1954) was a German actor and director, active in both Germany and the United States. The son of a German father and a Jewish mother, he was born in St. Pauli, the poorest part of Hamburg. Despite being of Jewish ancestry, Schünzel was allowed by the Nazis to continue making films for several years until he eventually left in 1937 to live abroad. Life in Germany Reinhold Schünzel (or Schuenzel) started his career as an actor in 1915 with a role in the film ''Werner Krafft''. He directed his first film in 1918's ''Mary Magdalene (1920 film), Mary Magdalene'' and in 1920 directed ''The Girl from Acker Street'' and ''Catherine the Great (1920 film), Catherine the Great''. Hilde Von Stolz
Hilde von Stolz (8 July 1903 in Segesvár, Nagy-Küküllő County, Austria-Hungary, now Romania – 16 December 1973 in Berlin) was an Austrian-German actress. Von Stolz attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and made her debut at the local Kammerspielen. She subsequently performed at various theaters in Vienna and in the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm in Berlin. She made her debut in film in 1928 under the pseudonym "Helen Steels". That same year, she moved to Berlin. In her second film role, she played the lead role opposite Reinhold Schünzel in '' Don Juan in a Girls' School''. Von Stolz began performing under her real name starting in 1933. She established herself as a major film actress although she had to be satisfied with major supporting roles that usually portrayed elegant ladies and femmes fatales such as the actress Lydia Link in '' The Dreamer''. Rolf Von Goth
Rolf von Goth (5 November 1906 – 9 November 1981) was a film actor from Windhoek in German Southwest Africa who settled and worked in Germany. After appearing in minor roles in several silent films such as ''Metropolis'' (1927) von Goth emerged as a prominent actor in the late 1920s. During the early 1930s he played a mixture of leading and supporting roles in films such as ''Once There Was a Waltz'' and '' A Shot at Dawn'' (1932)Youngkin p.465 but his appearances began to decline during the Nazi era. By the outbreak of the Second World War he had almost entirely retired from film. von Goth switched to become a director of radio shows, becoming extremely successful in the format during the post-war years. He was married to the actress Karin Hardt.
