Aalayam (film)
''Aalayam'' () is a 1967 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by the duo Thirumalai–Mahalingam and written by A. Bhimsingh. Based on the play ''Nenje Nee Vaazhga'', it stars Major Sundarrajan, with Nagesh, Srikanth and V. K. Ramasamy playing supporting roles. The film happens in one day, largely in an office and revolves around the theme of human values of honesty and integrity. The soundtrack was composed by T. K. Ramamoorthy. The film's cinematography was handled by Vittalrao, while A. Pauldurai Singam handled the editing. The film was released on 11 August 1967. It was critically acclaimed, and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. Plot Ramalingam is an honest, principled man, working as a clerk in a company. Thirumalai–Mahalingam
A. Bhimsingh or Bhim Singh (1924–1978) was an Indian filmmaker who worked predominantly in Tamil cinema. Apart from Tamil, he made films in other languages that include 18 films in Hindi, 8 films in Telugu, 5 films in Malayalam and 1 film in Kannada. Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, he started his film career as an assistant editor with the film-making duo Krishnan–Panju in the late 1940s. Later, he became an assistant director before evolving as an independent director. His films mainly dealt with family and relationships. He made a series of films all of which started with the Tamil syllable ''pa'', mainly with Sivaji Ganesan. Personal life Bhimsingh was married to Sona, sister of Krishnan, in 1949. He had eight children with her; one of his eight children, B. Lenin is a film editor, and another son of his, B. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil language, Tamil-language Weekly (news magazine), weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil language, Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. Kalki Sadasivam, T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as ''Ponniyin Selvan'' and ''Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. Lakshman Sruthi - The Musical Consortium was founded by V. Raman & V. Lakshmanan in the year 2003. Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra The Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra is a Manual Orchestra founded by V. Lakshmanan in the name of Sruthi Innisai mazhai in 1987 with 10 students; since then, it has performed over 7,800 times in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and across the world. This orchestra maintains completely manual orchestration: it does not use synthesizers or any other electronic equipment. It was the first orchestra to carry out a 36-hour non-stop light music performance on 17–18 December 1994 at Kamarajar Arangam in Chennai, India. In doing so, it set a world record.
