2022–23 Serbian SuperLiga
The 2022–23 Serbian SuperLiga (known as the Mozzart Bet SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons) was the 17th season of the Serbian SuperLiga, Serbia's top football league. Red Star were the defending champions, having won their 8th SuperLiga and 33rd domestic title in the previous season. It began on 8 July 2022. As the 2022 FIFA World Cup started on 21 November, the last round before stoppage was held on 12–13 November. The league resumed games on 3 February 2023. Summary Format of the competition remained the same as the last season - each team will play each other twice in round-robin format after which top half will play in Championship round and bottom half in Relegation round Play-offs. Last two teams from Relegation round will be relegated while teams finishing 13th and 14th will play Relegations play-off against teams who finished 3rd and 4th in Serbian First League. The Serbian Super League ( sr, Супер лига Србије / Super liga Srbije), referred to as the Mozzart Bet Super League ( sr, Моцарт Бет Супер лига / Mozzart Bet Super liga) for sponsorship reasons, is a Serbian professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Serbian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is usually contested by 16 clubs, but the 2020-21 season was contested by 20 clubs, because the Football Association of Serbia restructured the league due to the COVID-19 pandemic, operating a system of promotion and relegation with Serbian First League, the second tier in the Serbian football pyramid. Fudbalski klub Novi Pazar () is a professional football club from Novi Pazar, Serbia. The club was formed in 1928 as FK Deževa. FK Novi Pazar compete in the Serbian SuperLiga and play their home games at the 12,000 capacity Novi Pazar City Stadium. FK Metalac Gornji Milanovac () is a professional football club based in Gornji Milanovac, Serbia. They compete in the Serbian First League, the second tier of the national league system. FK Proleter Novi Sad () is a defunct football club based in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia. They competed in the Serbian SuperLiga for four seasons between 2018 and 2022, before merging with RFK Novi Sad 1921. Fk Javor Matis () is a professional football club based in Ivanjica, Serbia. They compete in the Serbian SuperLiga, the top tier of the national league system. History In 1912, a student named Milan Radojević brought the first football ball to Ivanjica, which led to the formation of the club. The team mostly played friendly matches before the conclusion of World War II due to a lack of organized football competitions.
