Nobita's Dinosaur 2006
, also known as ''Doraemon: The Movie 2006'' and ''Doraemon and the Little Dinosaur'', is a 2006 Japanese animated science fiction adventure film which is a remake of the first, 1980, Doraemon film '' Doraemon: Nobita's Dinosaur''. The new film was released theatrically in Japan on 4 March 2006 & was released theatrically in United States on 10 April 2006. It's the 26th Doraemon film. The film got a private screening with English subtitles in Washington, D.C. on 14 November 2008, making it the first time Doraemon made an appearance in the US. The movie grossed over 3.28 billion yen. This movie was ranked 6th highest-grossing movie and the highest grossing animated movie in 2006 of Japan & United States. It was the first to feature the new Doraemon cast and implement a new animation style. Following the end credits, the movie had a teaser for another movie. Ayumu Watanabe
is a Japanese anime director. After joining Shin-Ei Animation, he directed multiple ''Doraemon'' anime films. As a freelancer, he also worked on numerous anime adaptations such as ''Space Brothers (manga), Space Brothers'', ''After the Rain (manga), After the Rain'', and ''Komi Can't Communicate''. Biography Ayumu Watanabe was born in Tokyo on September 3, 1966. He started his career in 1986 when he joined Studio Mates as a key animator. Two years later, Watanabe moved to Shin-Ei Animation, where he worked on the anime adaptation of the ''Doraemon'' manga series, as well as direct multiple anime films in the franchise. Nobita's Dinosaur
is a 1980 Japanese animated film based on the manga series ''Doraemon'', particularly the first volume of the same name of the ''Doraemon Long Stories'' series. The film premiered on 15 March 1980 in Japan. It's the first feature-length ''Doraemon'' film. Plot Suneo shows a fossil of a dinosaur claw to everyone except Nobita. Being angry, Nobita claims he will be able to find a living dinosaur. As Doraemon refuses to help him, he digs on a hillside, but instead earns punishment from a landlord nearby who forces him to unearth a hole in the ground. He finds an egg-shaped stone underneath and quickly uses a time wrap to return it to its former form, and after warming it, the egg hatches to reveal a plesiosaur (Futabasaurus), who is subsequently named Piisuke by Nobita.
