Lucknow Metro is a mass rapid transit (MRT) system in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The metro is owned and operated by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC). Along with Delhi Meerut RRTS, Noida-Greater Noida Metro, Kanpur Metro and Agra Metro, it is one of the 5 operational metro networks in Uttar Pradesh. Construction of the Phase 1A line begun on 27 September 2014 with the stretch from to which began its commercial operation on 5 September 2017. Full operation on Red Line stretch from to began operation on 9 March 2019. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) is a centre-state joint venture that operates the Delhi Metro. Kanpur Metro
The Kanpur Metro is a mass rapid transit (MRT) system in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. The metro is owned and operated by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC). The feasibility study for the project was done by RITES in June 2015. The government approved two corridors as per Detailed Project Report (DPR). The tenders were floated for the priority section of corridor-1 between IIT Kanpur to Motijheel. The company Afcons Infrastructure was awarded the tender. On 28 February 2019, the Central Government approved the metro project for Kanpur at an estimated cost of ₹ 11,076.48 crores and a five-year time limit.
